Does that motor mount in place of the differential?

If the car weighs in like a typical Se7en, it's going to be a rocket ship. I want one, I hope they will offer it in kit form rather than a factory built car. Might be my next project after the Miata Italia.

That 500Nm motor output is the equivalent of 368.8 lb. ft. of torque, all of it available from 0 RPM.

Yes, that's where this motor is mounted. If one was determined, I would imagine a second motor could be placed in the front of the car as well. To help balance the weight.

Hank, I think before you can trade *your* car in on an EV racer, Westfield will need to know how much it weighs.

I wonder if it has some kind of electronic differential to allow turns without spinning the inside tire. It looks like there are actually two motors with a blue electronic box in between.

I imagine the weight of the batteries up front will more than balance the weight, might even make it too heavy on the front.

The motor is a new design, so I don't think there are any public specs on it. I think it will work nicely in a racecar though!

My comment on the front-mounted motor was for the AWD concept variant that has been tossed about. Battery sustainability will be the over-riding factor on that idea I would think.

I thought about building an electric car before but this doesn't excite me,pun intended, put a playing card in the spokes or something. 14,000 explosions every minute at the end of my feet with my ears tingling that stirs my soul. Turning on an air-compressor motor doesn't.

Bob, the trike looks great, just the thing to have for the sidewalks of New York city or roaming the pits. Are you going to bring it to Carlise? Is it your Seven's dinghy?

  • 2 months later...

Looks like Westfield showed the near production version at Geneva this week. It certainly is…different.
