The photo is of the Ultralite XR7 rear brakes. Pumpkin is the Subaru/Nissan R160 LSD, brakes are Wilwood 4-pots, rotors are Wilwood. Proprietary mounta for calipers and rotors.

If you buy the rear brake system from World Class Motorsports this month,($38,750) the rest of the car is free!!!

Got me, but they handle a WRX!

Never had the teensie-weeniest bit of trouble from mine. Four+ years of autocross and track days plus 4000+ miles on the USA 2005 tour.

What have you got in mind?

I have a solid axle rear on my car that originally came from a 81 supra, rated at 110 hp. Since I'm running 440 hp now, I figure sooner or later, something is gonna give http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/lol.gif

Always looking for other options I guess.

Uhhh, 440? Holy torqued axles, Batman!

I guess having light car allows the wheels to spin before anything bad happens to the axles, eh?

If the time comes that you need to replace your present rear and axles, I have some ideas of what might work.

Is your present setup and IRS?

You're right. I have an R180 rear end assembly here on the shelf but I am not too sure I need it with my puny little S2000 drivetrain!

As I recall, the Nissan rear ends went even larger than the 200's. Loren, if you read this, what are the available units?

I can tell ya right now, you do NOT want to mess withe R160 diff, with a lot of power. Anyone that is serious about upgrading the WRX (especially if they go to the stronger 6 spd) usually opts for the STi's R180. Especially with your power, it's proably a great rear for the lower tq, lighter cars though.

Mazda-In the interest of stemming your flow of capital into FrankenSe7en (friends don't let friends spend TOO MUCH money on cars), aren't there beefed up Supra units?

I know that there were lots of 600 hp Supras in the street racing scene, so there must be more of a simple solution than switching axle types. Unless of course, all you are really interested in are the swee inboard brakes.-Al

A Supra diff is a good idea. They are very strong.

My good friend has a MKIV Supra that puts down 630whp and 538w ft/lbs on low boost (20-25 i don't recall the actual psi) And he has been doing this for.... 3 years. Granted it ONLY gets driven on sunny days durring the summers here in NY. And that is with a good amount of track time, Drag racing on Drag radials, and street runs. It has seen a good amount of abuse. It finally gave out at the end of this summer. (kind of a suprize that it did give out) And this is on a full bodied car ~3500lbs. Here is a picture of how it gave out. There also is a TRD LSD on order for it... and the rumor is that all the 1000whp+ guys run this LSD with very good results.

Chuck:

What is that round silver thing with the wires coming out of it? Is that a fuel pump? I tought you were running an in-tank pump. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/confused5.gif

I looked at it some more, and that must be the power seat actuator.... I think http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/blush5.gifpowderbrake2007-01-18 12:51:10

There are, but they're on the later supras, and totally different setup. So they might as well be on any other car.
