Canadian Se7en owners roll call:

Oyagi

Recommended Posts

Hey all,

To inaugurate our new forum here on USA7's, I'd like all Canadian members/owners to post here with your basic info and perhaps a picture of your ride and some info about yourself.

I don't have my car yet (just a few days away) but I'll start things off with what info I have and will update my entry.

Name: John

Location: Ottawa

Car: 1982 Fejer 7

Details are sketchy at best at the moment but as far as I know the car was originally produced by the Fejer bros as a separate business from their racing activities which ultimately failed. The cars were well designed and were produced under license from Lotus. The car was first registered in 1982, powered by Toyota type 2TC 1588cc cross flow with single Weber, manual 5 speed transmission, 5 new mini mags with new rubber and 5 spare mag wheels (from Datsun S30Z) with tires. A body-off restoration was performed by StirtonHotrodz in Oakville ontario in winter 2009. The car features coil over shocks suspension, body reworked to permit individual panel removal, adjustable seats, quick disconnect steering wheel, 4 into one headers running to chrome side exhaust.

Future plans:

Cycle fenders

Paint fenders (front and rears) and nosecone black

Proper rollover protection

Proper racing buckets

...then lets go racing!!

Name: Eric

Location: Kamloops, B.C.

Car: Westfield SEiW Miata (some assembly required)

I have the kit, I have the wrecked Miata, now all I need is to put the two together! This is something I've dreamed about since a sunny day in about 1970 when I saw 2 Lotus 7s parked side by side in a lot at UBC and thought "what the heck are those?"

You are probably aware of this but be sure to check the engine for crankshaft endplay. The '99s had a problem with the thrust bearing on the #4 main journal. Otherwise that and the '00 engines are the best of the bunch for modifications.

You'll bring it to Vernon, of course??!!

And I'll tell you like I told Gord (PhatG) when he first drove mine, "once you've driven a 7, there's no going back."
