slngsht
I don't even have enough time to build a cowl Motor upgrade definitely not happening anytime soon. and if I go to the trouble, I will just go with a stroker LS2 or LS3 and keep it all throttle
beagley
Dennis sounds like he is bordering on the insane (which I have NO problem with, I met him a few months ago and he was very approachable and helpful) by dropping a LSx into a stalker. I have ridden in the "regular" stalker with the L67 and it frankly scared me in a wonderful way. My whole body was twitching when I got out. I couldn't imagine almost twice the power...... crap, I just left a puddle of drool on my desk. Does Dennis belong to this forum? Edit: I wait for the day that somebody uses Ford's Coyote 5.0. I've seen a few build diaries online where guys have dropped the older 5.0 from the fox body mustangs into their 7. All this engine talk makes me giddy..... Proj217
Ford's DOHC 5.0 is heavier, makes less power and is more costly (by far) to mod than a LS3. LSX powah for all.
Asylum67
Ford's DOHC 5.0 is heavier, makes less power and is more costly (by far) to mod than a LS3. LSX powah for all. So why not go with a SOHC 5.0 with aluminum heads. It would be way cheaper than a LS1, LS2 and any LSX. Parts are easy to find and many used performance parts available as well. Bruntonauto
Our first customer to put there own V8 in was John Meyers. A former sprint car driver and now weekend track racer. Since then, all other V8's come from the factory. Our new chassis will accomodate either V6 or LS V8. Reliable horsepower is endless with the LS series engines. You can get them anywhere from $800-$12000. The new chassis' will fit either T5, TKO, or T56 transmissions as well. Of course the good ol Supercharged 3.8 EFI engine is still plenty of power at 300hp and go for $600-$1500 Please take a visit to the new site. http://www.bruntonauto.com Scott Minehart Brunton Auto

slngsht
so, these LSx powered Stalkers...what tires sizes are they running? the first day I ran my LS motor, it was february, I had 215 60 R 15 regular street tires and an open 410 diff. That was fun. LOL Mine is not a Stalker, but now I run 295 40 R 18, R-compound tires without any real traction issues. Just need more power now. HOTTTCAR
That is why i decided to put an LS7 in my Stalker. Last year I drove Johns car and found that stomping it at 60 mph did not appear to cause any wheel spin but instead it just hooks up and launches you. The car feels very solid and smooth and the tork is astounding, but it definitly could handle more hp. I don't think i have ever driven a car with enough Hp. I would like to have that experience once. The Stalker we built for my son is an amazingly fast machine. Joe turned in the third fastest time (road course) at run n gun last year. At first it is exciting and fun but after a few days on the track you get used to driving it like any thing else. Don't get me wrong it's still fun but you are comfortable with it. But when the first race prepared Viper passes you on the straight ......you need more HP. Hope to have the Ls7 Stalker version done in a couple of months. Will let you know if it has enough HP.
