Boxologist
A trip back down to Colorado... A metalsmith can get everything straightened like new, but the car was new, and is decidely not anymore. I don't remembre if there is a hoop at the front of the scuttle. If there is i would be only onsidering race shops that deal/build tube frame vehicles. Because its an insurance job where u should not be at fault, and it eassentiallly was the car's maiden voyage, I would have Caterham handle EVERYTHING. over the offseason. BrunnyS1
Did you think of shipping it back to Caterham USA in Colorado for them to fix? I am sure that if you send them detailed pics they will know which way to go. Maybe it can be fixed locally with new parts. Feel bad for you. MHKflyer52
First I would like to say I feel for you and your 7 and that you are very lucky their was not more damage. Maybe you should contact Caterham USA and see if they can provide a new cowl and hood for you. You could then have the local auto body shop repaint them to match your car with paint supplied to you by Caterham USA. The person that backed into you insurance should cover the cost I would suspect.
KiwiBirkin
Tom I have really enjoyed this thread and loved your write up it really does make for a very intresting story into Seven ownership. As for the damage I would demand nothing but new from the insurance company as Martin said a new bonnet is the easy part and would have one deliverd to your home town from Caterham USA and matched painted to your car by the best spray painters in your town. The scuttle I would also see if Caterham can supply a new one then get a metal working company to fit it for you and again painted to suit.
