Yep Morse Code the old reliable from of comunication that will work when all the modern forms of comunication fail like text messaging. Gen-C has no real idea as to what will work in the end and how we arrived at this point.

Fun, but not really a surprise, especially since the guy wasn't using a smartphone with a keyboard to text

Of course you can't carry your electrical telegraph key (and ham radio) with you in your pocket to any place you go like you can a phone

But you can use Morse over just about any medium, sound waves, electrical or lightwaves, with nothing more than a human sender and a human receiver.

With the texting, you need a cellular network and cell phone, both of which are highly evolved, complex items that take millions of dollars to make and operate. However, girlie pictures don't come across quite right in Morse code.

Right, but that only works line of sight/sound, not very practical across long distances.

I suppose you can always describe said girlie

Actually, all three mediums can go around corners if done right. But alas, the girl wouldn't look any better.

I think texting is a big waste of time myself and was conjured up to save on bandwidth expense to the Telcos and cell companies. But that a whole different discussion...
