lancylad Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 Thanks to Z3 Stalker(Stewart) managed to get out for a run along H'way 40 and then on to H'way 1A which runs us thru some of the sweetest mountain scenery. Just three cars on this outing, hopefully we can get a few more on the next one. We had our Wifes along which held the tendancy to get heavy footed down to a minimum but it was a blast anyway. Had a great lunch in Longview at the local Saloon which gave us a chance to talk, what else, cars... Stewart-Stalker....Bill - Locost(V8 powered) me- Westfield.. Awesome run, great company, lets do it again ..Soon!
Jackal Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 Great scenery out there. I was in Canmore today purchasing my Birkin, and on the drive home I was daydreaming about what a great drive it will be once I have mine complete and registered. Good to see folks out enjoying these cars, I hope to be joining you all soon.
Croc Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 This is the type of magnificent scenery I hope to find another chance to run my seven through. looks like you had a great day. Jackal - Congratulations on your Birkin purchase!
DeanG Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 I think the first picture is great. Similar but different Se7ens. Thanks for posting. Glad you had a good blat.

twobone Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 Its too damn hot to drive the seven here in Ontario. How are you guys in the west?
XR4Bill Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 2 day Auto X at the Deerfoot Mall on Sat 23rd and Sun 24th, hosted by the CSCC. Come out and have some fun guys. cheers, Bill
XR4Bill Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 I was out in mine yesterday and it was ok. Mind you we are not getting the high temps that you guys are getting. Bill.
Z3 Stalker Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 We had high temps on the Blackhills Tour, as long as you can keep moving all is well:) Quite a few of the guys would wear light weight long sleeved shirts and long pants while driving.
Jackal Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 I don't mean to threadjack, but I had to ask. Has anyone here gone to extra lengths to insulate the foot well? I was thinking about using some of that automotive adhesive backed insulation under the carpet. I don't know exactly how it would work yet though as I have not picked up my Birkin yet.
jlumba81 Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 I used a DEI 010391 Reflect-A-GOLD 12"x 12" Sheet off of amazon. I put it on the engine side of the footbox. It cut down a noticeable amount of heat, but now I notice the heat coming off the transmission.
Z3 Stalker Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 The Stalker has no need for additional insulation as the footwell does not get hot, I cannot speak to other makes though!
lancylad Posted July 23, 2011 Author Posted July 23, 2011 I used the sticky backed stuff that Eastwood Company sell, make a difference in my Westfield.
