Marshal Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 http://www.extremetimeattack.com Fun times at the tracks in Socal... First event in Dec 2011 or January 2012,
rzempel Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 It appears that they don't want us to participate, though. In the General Rules" "3. Tube chassis vehicles are not permitted to compete."
BMW RACER Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 I would check with them. My guess is the "tube chassis" rule is pertaining to tube frame racecars.
rzempel Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 I emailed, but no response in more than a week.
notakit Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 "All vehicles must have a silhouette that is of the original make and model, with the body outline remaining true to the original stock body shape." Well, I guess that rules out all the wide-bodied, hood scooped Lotus 7-ish copies out there.
Mondo Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 This looks to be competitive events, not your normal track day. 7s have always had a hard time finding a category to compete in due to what classifies as "stock". Seeing how cars like Caterhams, Nobles, and other "kits" are not registered as factory built (to get around DOT smog & safety rules) there's probably not a place for them with these guys. There's so many other cars I don't think it'll concern them much.
rzempel Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 They finally responded to my email inquiry. Here's the answer: "Hello Im sorry, We do not allow tube chassis vehicles at Time Attack. Time Attack Event is very intense, and it is far more dangerous compare to regular track day. We can offer you another track event that you can run. There are variety of cars and safer compare to Time Attack Event. If you havent already, check out "Extremespeedtrackevents.com". Thank you"
notakit Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 Maybe they want to stack the odds of staying towards the lead?!?
MHKflyer52 Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 Factory Five Cobras are as this shows. They just want the tuner types and do not want to be shown up by a car that can out preform most of the tuner cars that show up is my belief from checking out their web site. :jester:
