The Stig Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 Need a cap and rotor arm for my Crossflow. Any advice on US suppliers?
11Budlite Posted January 30, 2012 Posted January 30, 2012 For my own info, what distributor did Caterham use on their Crossflow motors? I'm pretty sure there were Lucas, Bosch, and Motorcraft (Autolite?) distributors used on the various Crossflow applications over the years. Just to add to the supplier possibilities, if the distributor matches up with the Formula Ford application you could try Pegasus Racing: [/url]https://www.pegasusautoracing.com/group.asp?GroupID=IGN1600 Or BAT: http://208.109.215.220/files/ffnet.pdf Or if you can cross-reference to a 1.6 liter Pinto or Fiesta you could even try Rock Auto: http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/x,carcode,1135088,pgname,Ignition If it's a Lucas distributor then you could check out Moss Motors, Victoria British, and the other US-based LBC suppliers.
bball7754 Posted January 30, 2012 Posted January 30, 2012 Believe that Caterham used the Lucas 43 that was re-curved by Aldon. I recently had my distributor refreshed and recurved here: http://www.advanceddistributors.com In speaking with Jeff, he believes that the advance from Aldon isn't optimal in the US due to the difference in gas between here and the UK. Distributor is working well, looks great (he polishes all the distributors), and price is reasonable. Steve
The Stig Posted January 30, 2012 Author Posted January 30, 2012 Mine appears to be Lucas 43. For those that need to know, the side entry disti cap part number is 54400270 as stamped on the inside. This is also the following: Lucas DDB 194 Intermotor 4473 (Burton Power)
The Stig Posted January 30, 2012 Author Posted January 30, 2012 BTW, the rotor arm Part # is 54422803
