MBEARDEN Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 I have noticed that one in a while the turn indicators will pause and then restart after a few seconds...Yesterday they stopped working. When I got home they work fine, after the car sat for a while...emergency and brake lights were working fine. Looking under the dash I did fine a red wire with white stripe hanging loose under the left side of the dash...it appears to be the lead wire for the heated windshield which was hanging loose. The windshield is not a problem but the turn indicators are. Any thoughts ...the car is a 2003 Birkin
ayseven Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 They could share a common ground wire. That's the usual problem.
jlumba81 Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 Could be a bad/sticky relay. Try swapping around relays to see if it makes a difference. I've had a wiper switch and brake light switch go bad on road trips. Ended up opening them w a pocket knife and cleaning carbon on the contact points.

First electrical problem with the car that wasn't caused by me.
WestTexasS2K Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 Sounds like the flasher relay is going bad. They are usually a small round relay about the size of a quarter. Not sure if that's what the Birkin uses, but is pretty standard on most cars.
