Guest Terry
This is the stock R400 muffler, which we think is dreadful and isn't going on the car. So its a re-think as to what we fit. Your thoughts? http://www.7cars.ca/caterham/DSC03443.JPG http://www.7cars.ca/caterham/DSC03445.JPG http://www.7cars.ca/caterham/DSC03444.JPG
WestTexasS2K
Does it have two fans. Looks like on the front and back side of the radiator.

turboeric
Wow, that muffler looks like a Victorian steam boiler!
Kitcat
My Duratec powered Birkin uses a similarly sized muffler. I will be interested in what you use as a substitute.

Guest Terry
This is the muffler we used on a CSR we built in 2007. Made in the UK by Chessman who build Mclaren's pipes. http://www.7cars.ca/csr/308 RS.JPG
Croc
Yep that is the standard Caterham muffler. Its supposedly larger as it is a "cool touch" type. I have the burns to prove it too! How was the noise on the Chessman muffler for the CSR? Too loud for street or track? I believe your catalytic converter has dropped off accidentally just in case you were not aware and need it for registration?
breezy7
Terry: What is the purpose of the cable running on the left side of the chassis and ends near the radiator in your second picture? Mike
Guest Terry
It's the heater control, heater is not yet installed, when it is the cable goes round 360 deg Edited March 6, 2012 by Terry
