Croc
Nice videos. I liked the race duel at Grattan - very interesting to see where each of you was faster than the other. I assume same spec engine in both? Joe looked like he had fractionally more straight line legs yet your car picked him back on brakes and corners plus you were the faster driver on the back of the circuit. Lovely circuit too - never heard of it before today. What was the box in the passenger side for? Too low for aero I think?
Kitcat
Croc: Grattan is a very neat course and is on my short list of new tracks to visit this year. Not nearly as far as NJMP. One of the clubs I do Mid-O w/runs Grattan Sat-Sun and on Sunday they run in opposite direction!
SCCA7
Yes, Joe definitely has a bit more power than me. But he also spent a ton more than I did on Engine development. Kitcat let me know when you go to Grattan. I love Grattan. It is a great track for a 7.
bball7754
Mike - Grattan is also on my list. Was thinking of running there with 3Balls racing this year. Dates are end of July and early September. However, since you're no longer a member of the Crossflow club I'm not sure I should be trying to coordinate a track day with you. Steve
Kitcat
Steve: I'd be happy to drive yours:)! We shd see if we can meet up there along w/Peter. I have heard it described as a hp track so I wld have an advantage, at least on paper. Our 3 cars represent 3 diff developmental phases of the se7en. Driver skill/knowledge of the track can be a great equalizer tho so I wldnt count peter out. Also waiting for 3Balls to announce a date at Waterford Hills, one of my favorite tracks and the quintessential se7en track (top speed 85-ish). Peter, what was your best time at N Ledges?. I have been there quite a few times. I think I was doing 1'18" laps, or roughly what Spec Miata were running. So not exactly blindingly fast. I think Craig Chima was doing 1'07's in a Vauxhall powered se7en, not sure what his SCCA car did it in.
SCCA7
Haven't back to Waterford Hills to race in a few years even though I only live 30 minutes from the track. I used to turn 1.16's in my MG midget/ AH sprite and I know my 7 is faster. Grattan: I currently hold the SCCA FP track record at 1.25 Nelson Ledges I held the SCCA FP track record at 1.13.0 now it is 1.12.95. I know I can go faster now than when I set the record. Just need a fresh motor and a good set of slicks. P.S. My Lotus 7 I actually bought from Craig. It was originally built by Pat Prince for Tom Robertson. (If you know your SCCA Lotus 7 fame you will recognize the names) Also want to through out that I'm looking to race at Mid-O, Nelson Ledges and Grattan this summer and any of you are welcome to come and hang for the day or spend the weekend camping with us. I will also probably be hanging around the vintage races at Grattan and Waterford Hills. Peter Edited April 1, 2012 by SCCA7
