Took the AAA ride home

Mondo

Recommended Posts

I was getting my 7 ready for next Saturday's track day and thought a little jaunt to the hardware store would make for a good last shake down.

When I got back in the car, turned the battery switch and nothing (usually hear the fuel pump). Battery's got juice (hardware guy brought out his meter) and touching the two posts on the switch didn't do anything (in either position).

Well that's about the extent of my electrical abilities so at least I got my money's worth out of AAA.

I did that once.

The fuel pump ground came loose and it was dark. I had to wait 2' for a flat tow.

Hauled the car home. jack it up and found the problem as soon as the flash light was aimed in the direction of the pump. $90

I think AAA is the best value insurance for me going. I have their platinum membership as it gives me 150 miles free towing coverage - plenty range for my explorations. I have only ever had to use it once for my old yellow seven when I could see the problem but not the right tools or parts to fix it.

Only problem is that you have to wait hours for them to get a truck to you.

What was the problem Croc? Fixed it yet?

No I have not used them recently like Mondo - I was referring to an instance 2 years back when in one Sunday I managed to blow up the cooling system on my previous yellow seven. My current silver seven is currently dirty but otherwise fine!
