I am a new member to USA7s, and looking forward to meeting new people and making new friends.

I am also particulalry interested in getting to know what it is to own and drive a car I have lusted for since I was a kid.

There has always been something about a Lotus 7, Super 7, Caterham, etc. that has held my imagination since childhood riding around with my dad in his MG TD on a sunny day in New England, and as much enjoyment he and I had during our days togehter, it was always obvious that it was a Seven he too always wanted.

Dad's gone now, but our days together as a father and son driving to nowhere in particular will never be forgotten, neither will our combined wish for a car that was something way beyond just simple transportation. A Seven may be considered as simple by some, yet it transends anything else on the road today. Given the correct set of circumstances (i.e., long arms, correct speed, a relatively smooth road surface) you can even file your nails! - This is not my main reason for wanting a Seven, mind you, but it would be nice to know it's an available option to those of us having the want and the need.

Welcome to the madness! A modern Caterham is very road compliant. I feel it definately rides nicer than my 911. The higher profile tires give it a much nicer ride than the low profile ones You get all the benefits of the classic look, without the lucas electrics.

Definately find a couple to ride/drive.

Welcome to USA7s! not sure where you are in NE but there are a bunch of guys here who will be only too willing to bore your silly about there cars, take you for a drive and generally show off.

You came in at a good time - it is a buyers market. There are a few cars on here and on se7ens.net that look to be going for very fair prices. Before you get too eager and buy you may want to read up on registration for your state as that can get problematic depending on the car you end up with.

If you want to meet a few of us come along to the Milford NJ drive on June 9 at 10am. Alternatively we have a few planning to be at a track day on June 24/25 (and possibly the 23rd for a smaller group) at NJMP.
