NJMP Lightning July 14/15, 2012

Independent Motorsports Group is running a two day event at Lightning July 14/15. I'll be there working on my corner entry speeds!

 

The event registration looks like it won't be crowded and one could end up with lots of clear track time.

IMG is a fun group with all kinds of cars, including open wheel cars. There will be racing, time trials and HPDE.

I think that yellow #58 car is an Ex EP car from GT Classics. I would love to com but I have already invited my grand kids for a weekend with Gramps.

 

Have fun. Maybe you, Mike, Tom and others can come down to Summit Point with NASA MidAtlantic in August?

MD: what exactly is a NASA event? I am used to non-competitive track days w/lots of track time. This seems like less track time, more competition, right? And, when in August?

NASA is like SCDA but with a couple of races worked in and fairly relaxed. Racing is like SCCA with fewer rules. About the same amount of track time from my experience. No umbrella girls though...

NASA MidAtlantic events are HPDE days with races mixed into the HPDE and TT events. Since they use a one group goes on track as one group comes off process they get alot of sessions in a day. HPDE 3 gets five sessions a day both days.

 

You need to have a $45NASA Membership and register online. The Hampton Inn (Berryville Rd) is 14 miles away just off of Interstate 81. The Summit Point rate is $77 a night.

 

I will get there Friday evening the 17th.
