twobone
Who gives the most thumbs up? I've noticed that the folks who really go nuts over my Caterham are bikers and hot rodders both the rat rod and the GTR crowd. A couple of months ago a guy with tatoos up his neck and a beard (looking right out of a Jesse James reality show) and his girl friend just went nuts when they came up on me on the freeway. I put it down to that So Cal speed shop mind set of "strip it down" and make it faster and the modern younger kids fascination with go fast mods. I find it interesting how an english racing car design from 1957 can connect so well with these folks. I wonder what they would think of an Allard J2 with a monster cadillac V8? twobone
I forgot to mention the reaction of women. If I was single, I'd be giving "rides" to a lot of ladies.
Kitcat
Lots of smiles from the ladies. I was roaring in to work today in my Birkin and way off saw a female walker, who stopped dead in her tracks, put her hands on her hips and just stared w/amazement when I zoomed by. I pulled into our parking lot at work and a woman who was parking her new Audi convertible, saw my car and changed her parking spot, just to be next to my car. Also gave me a lovely smile. But, the most love comes from inner city folk who shout, wave, beg for rides and are generally entertained by the sheer craziness of the car. Next are boys ages 3-12, then boys 12-17, then boys... you get the idea. Certainly guys on cycles are huge fans as well. Recently a guy popped a wheelie for my benefit. Now that I think abt it everyone loves to see these cars:).
yellowss7
Mike, you and the ladies. I still laugh thinking of your encounter at the hotel near Summit point. YOU are a babe magnet. :smilielol5: Tom

snookwheel
Definitely get a lot of thumbs-up from the Biker crowd. Kids are nuts about it and ladies love 'em, but the ladies are somewhat confused at times..... I have had a few complement the cute dune buggy....... I was fueling the Birkin one day and this lady yells across the forecourt " I wanna ride in your car!!" I looked up at her, looked down at the cock pit, and wondered where the shift lever would go if I was batty enough to say "sure". :jester: m
