Kitcat Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 (edited) OK, this one made my highlights film from 1st full track day in the new Caterham. OK, maybe not. I thought I had posted my first ever U-Tube video, from my first ever experience w/my GoPro. But not so much. Those who are curious will have to google: 978Kitcat. And there I am, 3 short track clips from last week's Waterford Hills event. One clip shows me following a Panoz, one shows me chasing a white BMW. Note he gets a little wobbley on the small uphill section-several laps later he went off there, into the tires and ended upside down, with a passenger. Everyone was fine tho severely bent car and ego. And saving the best for last, clip # 3 is a sample of my own driving. Faithful trackday friends will recognize my unique style:). Croc Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 (edited) I guess this video was such a shocker that it refused to post and went away to hide????? ah no....just found it. Oh goody...a spin!!!! :-P Video 1 The Bimmer did want to let your Ford Focus past...eh? He was bouncing kerbs, wagging his tail, generally on the limit of his ability and that of his car. No wonder he ended up in tears? I bet that took some track time out of the day? Video 2 This one surprised me. I figured your car would be closer to the Panoz given you are on a little dinky go kart circuit which should favor the Caterham? AND.....the spin! Ah yes...your signature half spin and pike move. No gold medal though. You need a dust storm for that! As for your video editing abilities I love how the credits roll and it comes up "Directed by {Enter your name here]" Hehehe! Can I help on getting you sound for the next videos? Edited August 26, 2012 by Croc Found the videos Kitcat was hiding then added my editorial sarcasm...err...objective commentary
Kitcat Posted August 27, 2012 Author Posted August 27, 2012 "Editing ability" LOL. Croc, my tech ''skill" is limited to rebooting my computer occasionally. Feel free to tell me how you got the YouTube clips here-I was baffled. No idea what the problem with the sound is. Still trying to sort that out. This is the older GoPro w/internal mic and no sound settings that I can find. So it shd wk. I was hanging back on the Panoz and deliberately not passing wh/I cld have done. The Bimmer was pretty nervous abt me passing him and was watching his mirrors too much. I had the opposite problem on my spin: I was trying so hard to catch the guy in front of me that I forgot about driving within my car's and my limits.
Croc Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 (edited) Option 1 Just post the web address of the video (right mouse click on video and "Copy video URL" from menu option and then paste here. In this case it embedded the video correctly.... However, sometimes that just posts a link rather than automatically embeds the video. In which case going to option 2 Option 2 1) Copy the youtube web address of the video you are trying to post 2) from this address extract the characters between v= and the ampersand 3) Put "yt" at the front of those characters and put "/yt" at the back of those characters 4) Surround each "yt" reference with [] parentheses so it looks like [xx] and [/xx] 5) post the result to the page. Apologies for the way I explain option 2 but if I did it directly it would just show the video and not the posting code you need to see to understand how it works. Edited August 28, 2012 by Croc Corrected to get the instructions foolproof.... :-p
