WTB, '85 S3 roll over bar

Looking for a roll over bar that will fit my '85 S3 Super 7. FIA or Non-FIA will do. Caterham UK does not stock such.

I have the original roll bar off an '83 Cat long cockpit.

Wayne, Sorry it took me so long to respond. I contacted Caterham in UK and they said the ROB for the long chassis will not fit my chassis. Quoting them " To be honest Steve we have had these in the past and had fitment problems, so I think the only option is to get the car/chassis to us and then have one made (will obviously take a while though)" I just love the way they talk. Anyway, it won't fit. Thank you anyway. Good luck selling it. Steve

Ship the car to the factory? That is really funny. Sort of implies each one is different and specifically made by hand. Just how different can they be?

If you have a photo of what you want, check with some local race fab shops. They could give you an estimate on building one.

This kind of makes me laugh, mass production for these roll bars I would hope are made

 

on a jig. If they, Caterham, or their vendor are having fitment problems they need to hire

 

a production manager. Or learn how to fit pipe and weld it .

 

Our fellow forum guy Craig Chima makes very nice roll bars .... Give him a call...
