Great car. More smiles per mile than any I have ever owned. Family/health issues force me to let her go to a home that will give her more exercise.

Available for local pickup in Oakland Hills of the People’s Republik of Kalifornia, or delivery arranged by buyer. Transfer & taxes, if any, buyer’s responsibility.

Thanks for looking. Cheers!

Update: Added some more pics specifically highlighting the damage on the aluminum bonnet. I don't want to understate the damage at all, so you know exactly what you are getting. However, as you can see from the pics, from a few feet away, you simply do not see the damage. I have gotten two estimates from shops where I have had other car work done on an Audi and a Panoz. Both estimates were to restore it to as new condition. One was for $1100, and the other for $1400. Those seem reasonable to me for this sort of work. But there is absolutely zero impairment of functionality on the top. All four lockdown clasps work as intended.

Thanks Mondo. "Civilized" is a great word. I actually put money down on an Ultralight and a Caterham. But once I got into an S1, I was sold. Any of these cars are great fun, but the combination of the "aggressive" front end styling [the cowl shape and the lower elevation of the headlights that reduces the bug-eye look], and the lack of overt roll cage, makes the car appear more of a street sports car than other renditions. And while styling tastes can vary widely, I liked the design of the taillight pods. Cheers!

Thanks for adding all the detailed pictures of the blemishes. Do you get exhaust fuel odors while driving? I ask because I used to smell like I was dipped in gasoline when I finished driving around in my Ginetta. Yours is a great looking car in my opinion.

Hey Bill:

Actually, I don't seem to have that problem. When I park the car in the enclosed garage after a drive, it can smell gassy for a little while, but that dissipates after a few hours. But neither my ex nor my girlfriend ever complains about fumes, and my ex was notoriously scent-sensitive. She loved the car, and never complained about a residue scent on her or me. I occasionally drive the car to work, wearing my dress clothes [i put the suit coat in a garment bag in the trunk, and I swap my dress shoes for a pair of driving shoes I keep in the trunk]. No prob.

Thanks for the good words.

I have one and love it. have put about 10k miles on it in two years, 700 in one day. It has been over gravel washboard roads, shredded a front tire at about 80, in general use it as a daily driver, the trunk will hold a stuffed suite bag and a small cooler (enough for a week) and is reasonably comfortable hydroplaning at freeway speeds. perhaps a little too long wheel base to track but then except for it being a little tight for my 13 shoe it is very roomy and the attention to detail is very good. Gonna die with it and my daughter has dibbs.

Heh, speedwagon, I have a size 12, and it is a tad snug in there, but it makes for good control and heel-toe work. I have never shredded a tire, and I stay away from gravel, but your experience sounds a lot like mine. And my daughters had dibbs until I decided to sell. Good luck, and cheers!

How adjustable are the pedals? I have the opposite problem of the typical driver here I guess. I am only about 5'-7" and could barely get the clutch to disengage on my Ginetta with the pedals adjusted all the way towards the driver. I'm seriously considering this car, it seems great to me!

BT, there is more play for shorter folks. If you're tall and all your height is in your legs, like me, there is not as much room in the pedal box as you might like.

I am 5'11 and a little short in the leg and long on torso, keep the pedals close to the forward stop and there is about 4+ inches of travel and i bet it could be modified to come further back. My daughter is about 5'7 and does well. need to set in one, but I bought mine sight unseen. And being overhead hung it would be easy to add pads.

Hello:

I JUST (20 minutes ago) joined USA7 JUST to find out if your gorgeous S1 is still for sale ...and am curious about it being registered in Vermont as per car profile that was "kinda" an ad without contact info that I traced from google web and image search for "Superformance Lotus S1 for sale USA" (don't ask how this inept computer user did it!!)

Didn't realize how rare this model is and I am now lusting after one. Your ad is very thorough and "feels" honest.

I'm a college prof, who does NOT use, nor need to use, computers except for internal emails. I live in verdant central NY state with a month off during winter break, so if "it is meant to be" I could conceiveably drive car back to the "right coast". I'd take a southerly ride back. Does car have much of a heater? Hopefully I would not run into snow on last leg of trip.

Am not sure if I did this right [trying to contact you] so am including my email; just in case: salsalberico@yahoo.com

Thanks for reading this novella.

Carl Alberico

PS. Got any pix of "trunk" space? ... curious if there's room next to and/or around spare tire for duffel bag with a few changes of socks and underwear for trip home!!! Though upon reflection I could use the passenger seat which in any of my cars normally contains munchies for long drives!!

...am new to site and don't know if should add my yahoo email address.

Regrets to all who have tried to reach me over the past couple of months. I had an extended family situation that took me away from most activities. Apologies for being rude.

Please know that my S1 is still for sale, and thanks to all the many inquiries about her. For the next seven days only [through August 12], I am temporarily reducing the price by SOLD. Yes, that makes the price SOLD. This is a cash price, delivery and tax your obligation. Obviously, this will be much easier for California drivers, but it's open to all. After August 12, the price will go back to SOLD Reason? I have a short-term investment opportunity, for which cash is king.

Anyway, hope all are well; great to see all the activity on this board. Be seeing you!

I was just discussing the purchase of a Birkin which the owner said dont bother once he found out I was 6'3". I also have a size 12 shoe and described am thin. 200lbs.

What's the fit going to be like and is the pedal box adjustable?

Thanks very much,

Cbudgo

Kitcat, you are correct; a sale is pending. And yes, she runs quite nicely; drove her to and from work yesterday. Still a blast, just unfortunately now worth more to me gone than in the garage. Klasik-69, and others, I will respond ASAP.

PLEASE NOTE: if for any reason, the current pending sale falls through, I will extend the SOLD price for 5 additional days [until August 17] to the folks who were kind enough to reach out to me in order of receipt of their PMs.

Cheers! Be seeing you . . .
