Went out yesterday morning,2 degrees to start the day, bit chilly but what the hell....had a blast. Hit the road at 4.30 pm today, beautiful.....only short runs but soooooooo worth it.

I'll drive down to 22F.

Today I noticed I was sliding a bit more than usual. Tires are acting cold. I'm going to have to tone it down from now on :o(

I must make a confession here, I think I might like the fall blats almost a little better than the summer blats.

Early today we were at 2 degrees cel, but sunny in the early morning for a change instead of the usual winter rain that has descended on us a week back.

I got out with the car for a short period before the rain clouds came back.

With a toque on my head and a wool sweater and wind-breaker and gloves and the heat turned on full blast I was more comfortable roaring along the highway at 60 mph than I ever was in the summer with just a T shirt, ball cap and ear plugs.

In the summer the wind buffeting is a big issue, in the fall bundled up it isn't even a concern, very nice drive today and I hope for maybe a few more clear days before my insurance runs out in November.

I used to really enjoy the late fall, mid winter blats. Though i did note that my toque would try to fly off when driving above 70mph (no side curtains or deflectors on the windscreen).

As soon as this snow clears I will be out again. Got over a foot of the white stuff last night.

Strap that Toque down and go for it.....

One of the best trips the wife and I have made was the Kamloops-Jasper-Banff-Kamloops route in late fall. Temps were crisp in the morning, clear sky all day and fantastic colour. Our final leg started at -5C in Banff and it was great. Got a lot of looks, don't know if it was the car or they thought we were nuts.

Busy getting the car ready for ice racing. Can't wait for the pond out back to freeze up so I can get some practice in. Might be a late start this year.

The bugger is I can't drive on the streets with ice racing studs so have to trailer the car.

That ice racing thing looks like it could be a fun day out, although I was thinking along the lines of full contact.

YEEHAA!

Lancylad, have another Margarita.
