Xcarguy. I didn't realize any of the alu wings were smooth on bottom and a real airfoil shape. Do you think there's enough surface area though or enough open/clean air to make the wing work--underside of the wing most important so acts more wing and less spoiler. I cannot wait to hear your feedback on the wing. I bet it could easily be modified to work on front.

bonjo,

Unfortunately, I don’t have any data on the wings. The wings (both front and rear) are, however, a true airfoil design and should, in theory, produce negative lift (down force) at speed. As far as how effective these wings will be based on surface area and the availability of clean airflow, only driving the car at speed will tell. I’ve had #85 in the neighborhood of 145mph in forth gear with front fenders, head lights and windshield attached—this speed was with no wings and pre-front fender mod (louvers). Even at that speed with no wings, the car felt solid and very stable. As for the size of the wings, my theory/reasoning was—as flawed as both may be—very small car/appropriately sized wings (trying to mix form with function). If nothing else, this stuff is loads of fun to play around with. Mounting the front wing will come later on—maybe by late February or mid March; lots of other projects are pushing the front wing to the rear of the list.
