maurice1
Not sure if anyone is traveling over here in a couple of weeks but if you are near Caloundra on the Sunshine coast is where our Clubman (7s) Nationals is being held between the 14 and 17th of October. I am not a big poster on USA7s but I like reading about what you guys get up to. I will try to post pictures of what we get up to. We have a trackday organised, plus mystery drives, partners tour, show and shine and social dinners etc. Currently have 80 cars registered and over 130 people attending so if anyone is over this way there are worse places to visit. Croc
G'day Maurice. Thanks for posting. Sadly I will not make it there at that time my of year. My visit to see family in Sydney and Brisbane will timed for late December as I make my annual Christmas visit. Pity the Clubman Nationals are not timed for then - usual family squabbles will mean I will be desperate to escape! Hope the event goes off well and the weather is perfect!

Video is on the bottom of the 3rd page. Use the user name and password to view. The event was a great 3 and 1/2 days with fantastic weather, cars, drives and too much food, wine and beer drunk. Automoda
Wow! Hey everyone, you've got to look at this slide show. So awesome! Thanks for posting it. What an event. I wish we had events that large here in the USA. It would require every super seven in the USA to equal that event! There are some really interesting cars in Australia. And whats the moose-Ferrari? Croc
As Automoda says - it is one great slideshow of sevens. I think I recognized KiwiBirkin's car in one of the photos. I also saw a Birkin SV although it may have been a PRB? The Ferrari pontoon lookalike was a local special hybrid from my recollection. Very many thanks for posting Maurice! It would be good to have such a large event - yellowss7 and myself have started off small with an annual track day event but we are going try to add in the upcoming year a more social element for those not interested in tracking their car. Winery tours, visit to Atlantic City for spa beauty treatment (spouses and S1Steve are looking forward to that!), dinners, drives, etc. However, it is tough to get the numbers because of the distances involved and difficulty in finding dates that work for everyone. I think the clubbie community is also better knitted together in Australia than it is in the US where we seem to be fragmented across several clubs/forums. So Automoda, I can put you down on the list for 2014?

maurice1
Hi All Yes it was a great event, I was one of seven committee members for the event. This was the 5th Nationals held and the first in Queensland. The previous 4 have been held down south around Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide. They are held every 2 years and the next will be in 2015 in the Melbourne ( State of Victoria ) area. So if you are thinking about a holiday in Australia in 2015 then October or November maybe a good time to be here. The furthest 7 traveled 3100 miles to get to the event, 1700 miles by train as freight and then 1400 miles by road. Mike the weather was perfect, low 80s. Kiwibirkin couldn't make the event as his parents were over from New Zealand visiting. A very poor excuse!!!!!. To get to the show and shine venue we did a parade/convoy through the local business district which looked fantastic with 80 7s in a row. Croc
Oh wow - its Lakeside circuit  That brings back some memories. I once ripped a rear wing off my first Seven (1965 S2) when I got a leetle too close to the wall coming onto the main straight. Nothing has changed from what I can see - just incredible. Looks like it would still billow dust clouds if you did some gardening! :driving: Those videos have made my day! :seeya:
