CASwede Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 Hello, I have a Zetec ZX3 with a cracked engine mount. I noticed some Zetec mounts on the Raceline website. Does anybody have any other recommendations?
xcarguy Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 How about a photo of the cracked mount. It would make for a more informed decision.
CASwede Posted October 25, 2013 Author Posted October 25, 2013 Photo attached. This is the forward port-side mounting arm. It's a bit tricky to get the camera down in there to show the separation, but in person the arm has detached and wedged itself on the head of the bolt above it.

scannon Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 Jack up the engine to get it correctly aligned, tack weld it in place then pull it out and take it to a welding shop for the serious welding. Be sure to disconnect the battery before welding on the car.

rzempel Posted October 26, 2013 Posted October 26, 2013 From what I can see in the photo, there was no weld penetration on the plate side of the weld bead. Poor initial weld, but easy fix for a good welder.
CASwede Posted March 19, 2014 Author Posted March 19, 2014 All welded up. Not a pretty weld, but everything is holding nicely. I had to file about 1/16 of an inch off one of the bolt holes to get everything lined up. Replaced the mounting rubber on both sides while I was at it. It's nice not to have the exhaust banging on the body work. Many thanks all.
