GunshipDriver Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 Now that I've seen the light and will run staggered width wheels front and back, I'm trying to figure out all options for wheels with bolt patterns and offsets that might work. Running 18"wheels gives me more options.
WestTexasS2K Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 I havent heard of running staggered sizes. Ive seen a few run 18" but not 17F and 18 rears. Check Rota wheels they had some nice looking wheels but 8.5 was widest they had that may have changed over the last few years.
slngsht Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 I ran them on my Rotus, but that was not a typical seven. Ran magnesium wheels. 265 17's in the front, 295 18's in the back. I wouldn't recommend it. A lot of unsprung weight on a light car. I had excellent grip on smooth surfaces which was fine with me since mountain roads around here are generally very smooth, but having driven a few other sevens and gotten a ride in a couple, the car was not as settled on bumpy surfaces.
HOTTTCAR Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 I agree. I am running 265/18s on the front and 305/19s on the rear ........R888s....amazing traction straight line and twisty until you find a bumpy corner .......you may then require a coroner. Scary.
Toyotus 7 Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 A friend of mine has an extremely power road racing supra (i.e.700+ rwhp) where he runs 17s on the back with more rubber and 18s on the front with lower profile tires. It apparently "hooked up" very well as a result.
