kdayers
I'm looking at a Donkervoort S8 in California tomorrow. It's got the original Pinto motor and 4-speed trans., but it's in great shape. Trying to get a sense of value - would appreciate any insight. Edited May 16, 2014 by kdayers
TheDingo8MyBaby
http://usa7s.com/vb/showthread.php?t=4431&highlight=Donkervoort This is the only Donkervoort I've ever seen for sale. If I recall, the ask was about $25k in 2009. It had a beautiful aluminum nose and a lotus twin cam and looked to be in excellent condition from the photos. Kitcat
A comparable Caterham ('83, 4sp, 1600 cc X-flow, solid rear, short cockpit) mite go for around $16K-ish. I doubt a Donkervoort is worth that much, but really no idea. A lot depends on condition, how it drives, how it sounds and whether you are smitten. Croc
Hard to guess value - mid to high teens depending on condition. Maybe into the 20s if in exceptional condition (with that gorgeous ali nose cone!) They are just as good as the Caterhams of that era. Much harder to source parts though here in the US! Depending on what you find out you may want to PM SteveS on here. He and his brother built a similar spec Donkervoort and sold it a long time back. There are so few of these out there it is a high possibility it is his old car!
