scannon
I desperately need to get my detector mounted in the Caterham but I'm not coming up with any decent way to mount it. Does anyone have any suggestions or pictures? I have an Escort 8500 detector and a Caterham SV that need to get acquainted.
slngsht
I recall seeing somebody have a consealed unit mounted inside the nose cone... I'll see if I can find it. It was very nicely done.

WestTexasS2K
I just put a strip of velcro on the hood between the cowls and attach the detector to it. Works like a champ and the velcro is easy to get off after the trip.
powderbrake
I use a visor mount to hold my Valentine 1 on the hood, in the middle between my mirrors. I wired to a lighter socket in the passenger footwell. The detector is upside down, which means the front and rear arrows are inverted, but I am used to it. Since the "speaker" ( actually a 1/8 diameter hole) is now on the passenger side, I can't hear it. I then got a remote audio module from Valentine, and installed it under the dash on the left side. I wear an earphone in my left ear, and now I can hear the alerts. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/741762407_DSC_4069 (Medium).JPG
scannon
I decided to make my own mount for the detector. The detector is velcro'd to the mount and the garage door opener is velcro'd underneath. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/42990703_DSC02920.JPG Its not too visible from the front, peeking out from under the wiper blade. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1159331994_DSC02918.JPG You can see the 12 volt plug to the right of the Link keypad. I used an aftermarket cigarette lighter socket stuck to the panel with double stick tape. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/902446239_DSC02924.JPG I still haven't been able to get the speedo and sensor to communicate so I bought a bicycle speedometer that uses a magnet glued to the rim and a sensor zip tied to the cycle fender brace. It is slow to register when accelerating but will do for now. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1542498840_DSC02923.JPG
