  1. Yes, very happy with the GAZ. The spring rates I ended up with by using Dennis Brunton's suspension calculator thingy was 550# fronts and 525# rears. The QA1 shocks are garbage, and like I said be careful on the fully extended length of the rear shocks, the QA1's were 1" too tall.

On another note, the Cusco RS rear differential was a huge improvement and now the car actually drifts on throttle exit!

Come out to an GGLC marina autox again and I will show up for sure!

  2. I have all 4 red qa1 shocks that I don't think I'll ever need again. Did u need fronts or rears? Pm me and I'll dig them out for u.
  3. I would just give Dennis Brunton a call, he helped me out majorly. The rear shocks installed on my car were too long and didn't use the proper portion of the usable shock stoke because of it being too long. Hopefully you didn't buy any suspension yet, GAZ are pretty nice single adjustable. Really had fun for the first time at autox in my ultralight last saturday with GGLC at marina. wish you and raul where there

  4. Home depot will not carry the thread pitchs you need. Auto parts stores carry lugs and they are not found in most hardware stores, unless u go to a fastenal.
  5. How is the connection? Hub bolts or quick release?
  6. While replacing the heim joints on my ultralite I came across the two upper control arms (both front wheels) that are using 5/8" bore holes on the heim joints but that have 1/2" bolts. See pictures below. That means there is "slop" unless the heim ball is pinched within the bracket, and even then that is a scary thought that the alignment could move so drastically if say you hit a bump/pot hole. http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa105/joshsalvage/IMG_0929_zpsdaada330.jpg http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa105/joshsalvage/IMG_0930_zps08926f7c.jpg http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa105/joshsalvage/IMG_0931_zps2eb8e80e.jpg My question to you other Ultralite owners, especially the ones who have now replaced all of the heim joints... did you notice the same issue? (or is mine just extra special?)
  7. So besides the GoPro HD2 - and the Drift cam - what were the best camera's for audio capture? I'm looking at getting a Replay XD, GoPro, JVC or other action cam soon.
  8. Funny thing, I just removed my ebrake off my ultralite a couple days ago, mostly because even with the brake handle pulled all the way tight, the car still moves without much resistance. It looks like you are on the right track.
  9. That's not a good interference to have. Definitely fix that before driving fast. I'll take a few pics of my front end on my wmc ultralite. Strange how uneven they are.
  10. I found this place out of California that sells this type of foam for a more reasonable price. http://www.eti-fuelcel.com/Bafflefoam.html
  11. Man, too bad I was in Nebraska for nationals or you might have seen me out there with your old wheels and Avon slicks. I need to fix the brake bias issues on my chassis as well.
  12. I'd make a trip down to the Los Gatos branch, they are very familiar with sb100 and SPCNS
  13. You can borrow my 255s for the rear on the next track day. I think my car has 225 fr 255 rear
