  1. It's a rare, powerful and relatively inexpensive (compared to new), top-of-the-line Caterham that has, at 8.5K miles, been thoroughly debugged. For the rare, powerful and undeniably affluent buyer, it's perfect.
  2. I agree abt the return of the of our old friend; he can change his name, but not his tone. It's too bad as I like the majority of his posts. I even found his critique of me on this thread to be thought provoking: where do my loyalties as a seller lie, to existing se7en owners and our joint interest in preserving reasonable value for our cars, or with potential new owners hoping to find a bargain so they can see for them selves what the se7en experience is all about? My conclusion is obvious, but I did think abt it. If Rikker does evaporate, you can be sure he will soon be reincarnated here w/a brand new identity. And all will be well, for a while.
  3. Interesting that he says all Loti in the relatively near future will be hybrids. He's an optimistic guy to pin Lotus's growth in the $100K market.
  4. I want to see the video of her getting into the car (with the top up and minus all wet clothing:)).
  5. Sorry, Rik, dont know of any deals by an individual private forum member for this car, scotched or otherwise. It is my understanding that the car went to the highest bidder. Finder/middleman/agent? Dunno. I did tell the seller to contact Tony Vacarro. Both this seller and I (my car was for sale also) were getting low-ball offers from members of the forum and elsewhere. And both of us found good homes for our cars, and more $, thru Tony, a long time Caterham enthusiast. I am sure if any individual private forum members had bid more than Tony V's friends did, they'd be the owners now.
  6. As the post above yours states, Ian, the car sold. There will be others (tho not as many as nice or as reasonable as this one).

    True Story

As the end of our recent track day @ NJMP, Croc was chatting up a lovely lady and she asked him his sign. A voice from the crowd shouted "blue with a diagonal yellow:):)!" (OK, it's not a true story but I still like it:)).
  8. What type of se7en: Caterham, Birkin, Lowcost, Stalker, etc?
  9. When I was single and in my mid-20's (a mere 40 years ago),I went to a party and Mr Cool was there w/his girlfriend, Ms. Total Babe. She sat next to me and we talked a minute and then she leaned over and asked for a light. She was wearing a very low cut top with no bra and it was quite provocative when she was not bent over. But when she leaned into me she completely exposed both of her perfect breasts, nipples and all! Well, I am not so easily knocked off my game as Mr. Suave. So I first took a long pull of the beer I was holding. Sadly, I missed my mouth entirely and the beer grazed my chin and landed entirely in my lap. I remember it like it was yesterday(:.
  10. World's fastest backhoe!
  11. Wow! How do you learn that course? Amazing how much he was tossed around inside the car. His shoulder belts look lose. Loved the shot of the hummingbird at 3 minute mark!
  12. Hank, your car looks pretty nice to start with. The hood (bonnet cover?) seems to fit. So many Elites (even hi $ ones) have badly warped hoods with terrible gaps. Mike M.

    nice scenery

Rick Steves has nuthin on this guy!(I'd love to see the out-takes). Truly amazing cycling skills.
  14. Ready to...race, street drive? Both? Share pix when you get a chance. I just dont get enough chances to drool over this model Lotus.
  15. Welcome. The CSR gets my vote as the ultimate Caterham, especially w/260 hp. Looking forward to lots of pixs. What color/scheme? Mike M.
  16. The video shows Croc lifting on the fast right hand corner onto the straight at T-bolt. He accelerates to abt 100 mph, modulates, then takes off again. Which is how I did it as well tho the instructor w/Ron said it cld be taken flat out. That wld certainly add allow the driver to carry more speed onto the straight. Croc-your speedo on the vid shows you nearly hitting 130 mph on the straight. Is that accurate or is that an optimistic #? When we compared GPS speeds, I was hitting 117 mph there, and you a few mph more, no? Sure seems like you easily caught up to me at the end of the straight. Either better acceleration, or better braking (or both). Mike M.
  17. Excellent film/editing Croc! I am not a fan of music overlays- when I crank it up, I want to hear engines singing, not a choir. It was painful to watch all my raggedy lines, lap after lap (what I lack in talent, I make up in aggression:)). BTW, my Duratec is the 220 version, not 260. Just think how much farther off track I cld slide if only I had a few more ponies! Mike M.
  18. Karl-Your attached paint guard kit shows what I ended up covering on my Birkin S3 with my hand built (and much more expensive) system.
  19. Lots of road rash after 16K miles on my Caterham, so I did 3M on new Birkin's fenders front & back + nose and abt 8" high on both sides. Cost $900 for a guy to do it, took him almost all day. We'll see in 16K miles if it was worth it. Much depends on use-are you driving on street tires at legal speeds, or are you running super sticky race rubber and doing track days? The race rubber will sand blast the rear fenders. And sliding sideways off the track (wh/sadly i do from time to time) will expose the body shell, the nose will get hammered by the competitors in front of you. What spec cats are you building?
  20. The original Elite. What a beauty. Probly my favorite car shape of all time. Photo makes it look huge, tho is only 148" long (10" shorter than a Miata), 3'10" tall & weighed under 1500 lbs.
  21. I took my Caterham, both to a local race shop and, later to Goodyear. I took my Birkin to Goodyear this Fall as well. Both places did a nice job. Difference in handling was almost amazing. I had each place put weight in driver's side to approximate my effect in driver's seat.(I took 160 lbs of sidewalk salt bags in passenger side and transferred to driver's side by the garage).
  22. I read on anther forum that an Exige driver hit a deer during a lapping day at Summit Point this last weekend. Ya just never know.
  23. No, if you wad it up, it's on you.
  24. Octopus, aka: "The devil's anus" per a club member.
  25. I have to revive the: "What happens at NJMP stays at NJMP" concept! Karl, I have 15" wheels (or what's left of them) so cant use your 13" tires, tho more grip is a good suggestion. Paul: yes, time for a new Avatar. Maybe Croc will send me a shot of one of my "offs" to insert in place of my sweet Caterham (wh/never went off at NJMP).
