  1. Hey Mark, I'm not familiar with the HiLux rear end specifically but that looks like a spool. With the rear off the ground and you turn one wheel does the other wheel turn the same direction or opposite? Will you make it out to the EuroSunday event tomorrow? I'll be there as long as it isn't raining... Chris
  2. Two of my cars... I can mash myself... (no shot of the Fiat next to the Escalade, it wet itself when I was staging the shot) http://usa7s.com/vb/attachment.php?attachmentid=6744&stc=1&d=1407466490 http://usa7s.com/vb/attachment.php?attachmentid=6745&stc=1&d=1407466554
  3. Man, I would love to make this drive but I'll be in the LA area all next week. One of my favorite drives is out of El Dorado Hills south on Latrobe to Old Sacramento Rd into Plymouth. This then takes you straight through Fiddletown to Hwy 88 east then take 89 to So. Lake Tahoe, fantastic morning of driving! But then again you probably already know that... m3dragon, are you in the El Dorado Hills area?
  4. I know I'm a bit late on this but... I got my back-up switch from RockAuto, Standard Motor Products (search part no. NS24) for $16.28. It's an all plastic unit but works great. The application is Merkur XR4TI. http://www.rockauto.com Chris
  5. The Birkin is doing great, now... as they say the third time's the charm, or in this case the third engine's the charm... I think I had a problem with the water injection (possible self inflicted) that had the engine way down on compression and pressurizing the crankcase. I picked up a low mile replacement, lowered the boost a bit, and left in the stock cams as a baseline to get everything dialed in. After this set up is deemed completely sorted and reliable I'll reinstall the cams. After that... well these things are never done .
  6. My Birkin was originally spec'd with Brookland screens but I switched to a standard windshield before delivery. The car came to me with this mirror, I have held onto it to keep my options open for changing the windscreen someday but I need the cash to pay a tuning bill (trying to keep my 7 expenses off the household books...) Carbon fiber housing Convex mirror Mirror size: 2 1/8" high X 8 5/8" wide X 2 1/4" deep Overall height:7 1/2" This mirror is in excellent condition, the only marks on it are from the button head allen bolts used at the mounting holes and will be covered once installed. These sell new for about $300 (182.70 British lbs.) at Demon Tweeks and $359 at Pegasus. Selling for $185 (Including shipping within the USA) Thanks for looking, Chris
  7. If you tow your Seven you probably have a truck or SUV, right... Any Truck owners or off road enthusiasts in the Seattle area should come to Puyallup this weekend, April 5&6, for the 4 Wheel Parts Truck Fest. Great deals on truck and Jeep parts from dozens of industry leaders. The show is at the Western Washington fairgrounds on S. Meridian in Puyallup. If you make it to the show please stop by the PIAA Lighting booth and say hi. Chris
  8. OK, I have dropped the price as low as I can go. New price is $50 shipped to USA addresses.
  9. I couldn't attach images to a PM so here are the retainers you will receive...
  10. I work in the automotive lighting industry and it seems that even though this is a common method of mounting there will be several variants of the spring. We have a lamp that uses the same system but with a different shape to the spring. If you don't get anywhere with WIPAC or eBay I can have my office send you 8 of ours (assuming you are doing two lamps) to try out. Chris
  11. The lens is probably held in with a spring clip that pushes between the inside of the ring and the flange on the lens. Something like in these photos of the lights I just removed from my Birkin:
  12. Price Reduced For Sale: Set of four injectors with adapters for Ford Duratec engines (not sure about Zetec compatibility) 42 lb/hr at 45 psi. 11-13 ohm Adapters included if you are using the factory Ford harness Approximately 2,500 miles driven Car was running great with these installed but was coming up short on fuel delivery as I approached 250 WHP. $80 including shipping within USA, international available but I will need to check cost. New price $50 Thanks for looking, Chris
  13. Mine is a supercharged car built by TMW and the injectors were way too small for the horsepower the car was putting out. Also the fuel pump was a 30 gallon per hr unit that could barely keep up with the 40 lb/hr injectors much less the 60 lb/hr units I now have. The engine that was in the car when I received it was bad (burned piston), I knew that was the case and he supplied another engine with the car. I'm very sure I will find the same issue when I pull the head of my current Duratec; compression is way down in 2 cyls plus I am pressurizing the crank case and blowing smoke/oil from the breather. My new replacement engine came from an '11 (15k miles) and was at the recycler for less than a week when I picked it up. I passed on cheaper, lower mile engines they had but were in stock for years. I know oil starvation can be an issue but I haven't done any track or autocross driving yet. Chris
  14. The engine wasn't getting nearly enough fuel with injectors that were way too small and a 30 gal/hr fuel pump. Even with a conservative tune and taking it as easy as I could I burned another piston:cuss:. With a bigger fuel pump, larger injectors, and a replacement low mile '11 engine I hope to be back on the road in a few weeks. Chris
  15. The guard is very close to the pan, the edges of the dimpled holes are within a 1/4 of the pan. I wanted max protection and some cooling but still keep some ground clearance. The dimple-die holes add quite a bit of rigidity with no added weight penalty. Chris
  16. Paul, I will talk to him, this one was made from a cardboard pattern that I laid out. I will have my guard off to replace the engine (another story) so I can give it to him to copy. I will get a quote for you first but I believe it will be in the $250 range. I may have him make a few while he is at it. I;ll also check on his schedule. Chris
  17. I do believe that there is an Old Milwaukee can in the background with this gentleman representing for the Camaro crowd, not sure about the bottle though...
  18. I grew up in Danville and when I was there we had lots of roads to run free on around the south side of Mt Diablo. At the time it was all cattle ranches but now is high dollar real estate. Sorry, not helping... The drive up Mt Diablo via the south gate is very nice but not a good one for sporting around on, a nice Sunday drive with a great view from the top. I moved from the area to Orange County and couldn't wait to get back up to No. Cal. Chris
  19. Reviving a hijacked thread... MoPho, where did you end up? Chris
  20. Here is one I had a fabricator friend of mine make for my Duratec powered Birkin with a Raceline sump. It's steel so there is a little added weight but coming from a off-road background I wanted something that could take a real hit and not cause any worry. At the front he sump guard mounts to the threaded holes in the crossmember in front of the engine. At the rear it sandwitches between the belly pan and the cross brace just behind the bellhousing (in the photos the rear tabs haven't been drilled yet). Chris
  21. Injectors have been sold
  22. !!Price update!! I need to free up some cash for a tune:rolleyes:! Reducing the price to $100 for the set with adapters and shipping, now that's a deal:hurray:!!!
  23. Set of four flow matched 60 lb/hr Siemens Fuel Injectors for Duratec engines (not sure about Zetec). The flow rate of this set was matched to within less than 1% variance. The industry standard is +/- 3% so total variance can be as much as 6%. These injectors are equipped with an EV1 style connector and I am including adapters to connect to EV6 type if the factory Ford harness is being used. 60 lb/hr injectors at 43psi fuel pressure will support 375 HP in a NA 4 cyl. engine (320 HP forced induction). These injectors are used but only for a short time, less than 5K miles. They were removed from a professionally built and maintained 600HP Mustang (the owner is going for 900HP!). I am familiar with the car they were removed from and the very reputable shop building it. I purchased a set of eight injectors removed from the car (he's a V8 guy so he had no need for 4 left over units) for $300 but only need four of them. $150 for set of 4 with adapters shipped via USPS Priority Mail. Chris
  24. Soooo, how was it? I grew up in the area and went to the museum a couple of times not long after it opened but I haven't visited since. I have been thinking of taking my car to the Bay Area for a few runs on the back roads I learned to enjoy driving on. Timing a visit around this event might be fun. Chris
