  1. Thanks Michael but I think I'll go ahead and get it on the seller's word it will fit. Plus I'm kind of handy with a sewing machine if it needs some adjustment.
  2. Thanks Michael, looks to me that the critical dimensions are overall length SS = +8" rear hoop height SS = +1.5" rear hoop width SS = +3.5" Would you think there's enough room in your cover to accommodate that additional SS volume? Thanks for the help.
  3. great. here they are: My Brunton Superstalker is overall length 10-10 width at front and rear fenders: 5-4 rear hoop: 46" high & 40.5 wide at top front hoop; 42" high, and 34.5" ahead of rear hoop mirrors are 31" high and and extend to 5-2 overall width ( inside fenders width) wheel base is 7-7 pics here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/fgedpfk5044ozpa/AADbc-7FYdlYB3q0_lsUVcFoa?dl=0 Thanks.
  4. The vendor responded to my caged Superstalker dimensions and said it should fit. Guess I'll order and see since I can (and probably will) make minor mods myself.
  5. Too bad; I was warming up to the idea of joining you for several days. Might have to just do it myself.
  6. "Keep in mind that this cover is actually made for a Caterham Seven so it is form fit. Other Sevens may have a slightly different shape." Caged Super stalkers are probably out of the question then, huh? I sent my dimensions to the vendor but haven't heard back yet.
  7. I'd be there but for the fact that I've got a 3 week old titanium hip joint that needs a little more recuperation time. :nopity:
  8. the one in this thread? that's slomove's car. Mine, pictured in another thread? Don't know; it's what the original builder put on.
  9. thank you sir for the detail. Makes me think I and a very anal/detailed mechanic type friend could give it a go. Are you still planning on your NorCal circuit in a few months? That well planned itinerary and you coming from my home town of Pasadena (a non-sequitur I know) really warms me up to the idea.
  10. Thanks, that's what I needed. And wow, he does incredible work.
  11. Awhile back I saved photos of this amazing wind wings project. I don't know if I found these here or elsewhere on the web. Is that owner active here or can someone tell me more about how this was done? While I really like these wings and may want to do something similar in the future, my immediate goal is to get a roof formed to my one-off roll cage. I'm wondering if the technology/materials used in these wings might not apply to a roof. Anyone have any advice? thanks.
  12. I would talk to the tech people directly for the specific region and course you intend to run. For something that should be cut and dried, tech rules may not be. Here's my take: The rules may be pretty detailed and hard to follow for the average lay person. I just had a front hoop added to my Stalker to make a full cage. It was done by a race car fabricator with 30 years experience including building for a CART team. While talking about my addition for SCCA or NASA racing, he took out his SCCA 2016 GCR book and referred to it to make sure something hadn't changed WRT to what we were discussing. And, never mind that different organizations have different rules, there are differences in interpretations of the rules by tech inspectors. There is a certain amount of judgment involved there despite what any one of us might expect. Think of how thick that GCR is and how it has to apply to so many different cars; sometimes, the tech can't keep up on all the subtle nuances and has to fall back on his seat of the pants judgment. The flip side is that the tech might let you slide on something that you personally have more concern about since it's your car and you've spent a lot more time looking at it than the tech has. And on some cars there may actually be a front hoop; it's just hidden behind the dash like a formula car. I've seen pictures/vids of some Lotus 7's wheel to wheel racing with out the tall front hoop; And I wondered about that til my cage guy explained how the geometry of a front hoop to a rear hoop is calculated. The height of the front hoop can be quite low. And as for the fuel cell, the hill climb tech guys may have their own view on it's necessity. As discussed elsewhere about fuel cell safety; some of us think our biggest chance of burning up comes from driving on the street in traffic and wheel to wheel racing without a fuel cell is actually less dangerous. So, for a hill climb, some might think a fuel cell may be less critical than a full cage. Just food for thought.
  13. If Lewis H were a real car guy, he'd really have a picture of 7's dicing on his wall. JMHOWTFDIK? BTW, those Honda motors (in F-1 practice yesterday) sound like a fart in church...........embarrassing.
  14. Formula Mazda leaving it's nest that it called home for 12 years.

  16. Welcome. always good to have another "black sheep" :jester: in the crowd. I'm brand new, so I'll be interested in your questions/observations.
  17. Oh yeah, sorry. I didn't see the sold notations.
  18. Ha, with 3 cars you could locate one on each coast and be able to go wherever the weather is good.
  19. I'd probably be interested in the first day trip.
