  1. Thanks for the reply. All set now.
  2. I won't be getting the car for another couple of months, but I have zero concerns about the owner or story on the car as he is a friend of a friend and was the sole, very meticulous owner. It was tracked only and only recently converted to be street legal. It was never previously registered or titled for the street, sold to him on a bill of sale as a kit. It has a PA title now but the numbers on that are PA numbers and have nothing to do with the chassis number. It will be a while until I can check into the Arch situation. I only raise the question in regards to getting a replacement plate from Caterham and for future explanation years hence if I ever sell the car. Thanks for all of the replies and for any further information.
  3. My question was referring to a plate. The owner explained that there is a chassis number under the pedal box cover.
  4. I'm curious, in 1992, were chassis plates given to all Caterhams? I'm purchasing a car from the original kit builder, with all paperwork including the original invoice from Sevens and Elans in Massachusetts, that was built from a kit but there is no chassis plate.
  5. Fantastic having the doors on both ends! Well done! Are the tracks on your doors high enough to allow the door to be open with a vehilce up on the lift?
  6. Off topic but it's another bump for the thread. Ben, I'm wondering who you bought the wheels and tires from and what the cost with shipping ended up being?
  7. What a coincidence - I'll be getting a '93 HPC in April so I don't actually have the car yet. The copius paperwork that the owner passed onto me shows that it will be different with dry sump or wet, and possibly whether an oil cooler is installed or not. There is a short one and a longer one. The part numbers that he has written down are Wix WL7064, Fram PH2874, and AC/delco PF53 AC. I would check what is on now and match that to be safe.
  8. No hits on my thread looking to buy Caterham leather buckets so expanding the search. Let me know if you have Tillets or any good seats that will fit a regular chassis S3. Thanks!
  9. Thanks everyone for the replies so far. Does anybody have any experience with Tilletts? How about experience with getting seats from Caterham USA vs. from the UK? I’m still hoping that someone has a pair that they have taken out and want to sell.
  10. Thanks! Maybe somebody has a spare pair or something else will come up.
  11. I'm looking for recommendations on seats for a '93 Caterham S3 long cockpit. The car currently has the standard bench type seats. The intended use is primarily road, some extended drives, and some track days. Here are the issues that I'm thinking about... 1) The bench type of seat provides nothing between the head and the rollbar and this is a safety concern. There is much opinion to suggest that it's unsafe to drive with a rollbar unless you have a helmut on. Padding on the bar, no matter what isn't enough. I might take the bar off for driving on the street but it's painted bright yellow and probably provides some real safety in making me visible to SUV's. 2) I'm 5'10" and my wife is 5"2. While she is very unlikely to be driving the car often, she would like to drive it sometimes and it would be good to be able to switch when taking a longer drive. She really can't drive the car with the bench style seat as pillows behind her don't really work to make her feel comfortable and be able to get the clutch in. Maybe a moldable foam for her but that's not very practical to be carrying around all of the time. I've put a WTB up for Caterham buckets, so far no offers, but I'm wondering what others are using and I'm looking for recommendations. Thanks!
  12. Interested in getting Caterham S3 bucket seats and mounting tracks/hardware. Not SV. It's for a '93 long cockpit. I'm in Pittsburgh, PA Thanks
