  1. FIA just for the recert spans, and not much spendier than SFI. G-Force and Racequip make well priced ones. What seats are you using? I wouldn't like to be on track without an anti sub belt personally. Speaking from experience, at my last Track Night in America at NJMP, which is pretty lax as far as SCCA goes (self tech sheet, etc), they wouldn't let me use my 6 point harness in my Elise because they were out of date. I had to wear my 3 point stock belt instead. Theoretically I suppose I could have worn my harness OVER the stock belt, but that just seemed silly. They also broomsticked me even though targas aren't supposed to be subject to that, so as always, YMMV.
  2. Familiarizing myself with my new to me Zetec Birkin S3. It doesn't have wilwoods or anything fancy like that, car was built in 03 or so. Vented front, solid rear disc. Live axle rear. What was the common caliper and rotor used on here?
  3. Sweet! Glad I could make that love connection!
  4. I talked at length to this seller before buying my Birkin. This is the person who bought it from that seller, seemed willing to negotiate if someone was serious and acted quickly. The proportions of the WCM cars are just odd to me, otherwise I would have bought it.
  5. I blew up my WR426 sumo earlier this year, seized the bottom end. Feel you there. I've had a few friends do safety track and they definitely call it small car friendly. Lots of blind crests, camber changes etc. I do a lot of mountain running, er, did, with the Elise, so tighter and techier is kind of my wheelhouse over fast sweeping tracks. I'll definitely pencil in NJMP this year! I've done both tracks in the Elise, and Thunderbolt on a bike. Maybe a Track Night in America at Thompson or Palmer as well. I did Pocono double infield last season, and it was fun, brutalized on the banking though.
  6. Not often honestly. The KTM I just got came from Saratoga Springs. I do make it up to the Hunter/Catskills often. New York Safety Track is on the to do list this coming year.
  7. Hi gents, my name is Mattie. Owned an Elise for 7 years and regretfully lost her driving in the mountains and recently totaled it. Found this forum, and just bought the Dunnell powered Birkin someone had listed here. Always been a fan of less is more and lightweight roadsters, and after the Elise, this is about the only thing lighter around. Also own a couple of motorcycles, KTM 625 Supermoto, Yamaha Bolt C-Spec, street tracker Yamaha TW200, flat track Yamaha SR250, Honda CB360 bobber.
  8. I ended up buying that Dunnell powered Birkin, thanks for the tip! Here's a car I passed on, but seems like a deal and half. WCM Ultralite, asking 17k, but open to negotiation for a quick buyer. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/cars-sale/2014-wcm-ultralite-seven/161120/page1/
