Thankyou !! And I totally agree about the safety factor. The RAC bar is also higher . How about weather gear ? Roof and side screens (impossible with aero screen) or a full tonneau as here - http://www.westfield-sportscars.co.uk/shop/product.asp?numRecordPosition=4&P_ID=293&strPageHistory=cat&strKeywords=&SearchFor=&PT_ID=80 or really not a deciding factor ?. I personally like the trunk tonneau to stop things blowing out of it but am not really swayed either way about weather gear as I only drive it on dry days and if it rains , well tough !!

Aeroscreen , nice one ! This will involve changing the scuttle too but it is very easy. We always had the intention during the original build to not put anything on the car that would leave scars if upgrades were done so we opted for the standard roll bar. We are now considering an RAC bar which will need 2 x slots cut in the trunk . Is a 4 point bar a big "must have" for everyone ?With the current spec on the car , just about any of Westfields options can be installed easily either by us or the new owner. We have been a little off the pace with selling the car as our Grand Am schedule has kept us busy but this car will find a new home soon hopefully. Your upgrade ideas are being noted as we would really like to know what needs to go on the car to attract a new owner. Thanks Guys !!

Hi Guys We are considering fitting even more options to our car and are wondering what you guys would like to see on the car. Every option on the car so far is from Westfield and we would like to stick to their parts store so please let us know. Here is the link - http://www.westfield-sportscars.co.uk/shop/default.asp

I am 6ft 6ins with size 14's and fitted in just fine too. Sweet deal for one scary fast beautifully built car. Too cheap to let this one go guys !!

The new one won't fit in the driveway either !!

We are selling one of our smaller trailers as we have just bought a bigger one and this is now surplus. The trailer deck is 14 ft long with a slightly lower than normal dovetail to allow easier loading/unloading of lower cars. This trailer is actually a modified landscaping trailer and is substantially lighter than a car hauler. We added the dovetail on as the original deck was 12ft long. The Westfield can be driven onto the trailer without bottoming out. This is a braked trailer (one axle) and has a 7 pin connector.I have towed the trailer with a Subaru outback and it did fine (brakes couldnt be used as the Subaru only had a 4 pin connector) We tow it regularly with an Xterra. The trailer comes with a clear NC title. All wood has recently been treated. $1700.00 or $25,200.00 with free car, as shown !!! This is the second Mazda Sport to enter the USA and also the car that prompted Jonny Lieberman from www.Jalopnik.com to state that a Lotus Elise now feels like a "fat sloppy pig" and this very Westfield was "the car he would take home" . This very car was also the most popular "7" type car at the Carlisle show. This was also the Westfield USA display car. Upgrades include powder coated chassis and suspension, race seats on slide mounts, 5 point 3 inch harnesses, removable steering wheel, quick steering rack, nylon suspension bushings , heated windshield, long range fuel tank, Westfield shift knob, trunk tonneau cover and removable rear fenders. The following new parts fitted to the Miata donor components include - Slotted and cross drilled brake rotors, new brake pads, water pump, timing belt and tensioner, plug wires, spark plugs, front and rear crank seals, transmission input and output seals, clutch, clutch slave cylinder, shift lever seal, valve cover gasket, synthetic fluids, thermostat, exhaust header gaskets and all filters. All donor components were painted/reconditioned and look better than new. Tyres are Kumho Victoracers. A North Carolina title will be supplied to the new owner of this fantastic car. Please read the articles in our news section to see what the press had to say about the car. You will find many pictures from the build on our website. The mileage is currently 1500 but this may alter slightly . $23,750.00 FAQ'S Q - are the decals painted on or stickers ? A - They are all stickers and are easily removed including the white number background. Q - can a higher roll bar be fitted ? A - Yes , one is available from Westfield and will bolt onto the existing mounts already welded onto the frame. The bar is a 4 point with a diagonal and is called the RAC (Royal Automobile Club) approved bar. The boot box will have to be cut and the boot tonneau modified or replaced with one that has 4 x holes. Please remember that I am 6ft 6ins so most people will be under the bar. Q - Is weather gear available ? A - Yes , full weather gear including roof and side screens are available from Westfield, The mounting points for the roof are already fitted to the chasis and windshield. Q - Are stone guards available for the rear fenders ? A - Yes and are available from Westfield in either aluminum or Carbox effect. Front cycle wings are also available in the same finish. The car currently has "clear bra" protective material on all impact areas to avoid any chips. Q - where is the car made ? A - England of course and have been for 26 years. We also make warm beer and fish and chips !!!!!! I am getting alot of questions about the car now that the weather is warming up a little so here are some common Q & A's Q - can a higher roll bar be fitted ? Hi Andy I had to jump in here after reading your post. May I start by saying that you have great taste by deciding on one of these crazy little cars , fun starts here ! I think that we may have already communicated once by email ? You refer to Westfield being at the lower end of the spectrum and that is what is bothering me. Westfield are very new to the USA but have been around in the UK for 26 years now and have a fantastic reputation , a huge following and even a race series. In the UK you either own a Westfield or Caterham depending on which you prefer or more importantly in my case (6ft,6ins) fit into. I see that you are in NC and would love for you to see our car which is also currently for sale. The universal first response when people see the car is "wow , fantastic build quality , everything fits so well" Please have a look at Westfields site in england and you can read about Westfields history www.westfield-sportscars.co.uk . Please feel free to call me any time to set up a visit. Doug Beckett 919 219 9470. I can also mail you out a brochure if you like.

I can tell you that the Jag dealers are looking forward to the change , sometimes a fresh start and new money can work wonders. I worked for Jaguar when ford took over and all the same hype was around then with people all upset that an English car was going to be built by Americans and the cars may be called "Fag's". As a Jaguar technician I can tell you that alot of Fords influence was very possitive although now the model range is a little stale. The UK get turbo diesels and are selling very well . I don't mind as long as the interior color names stay the same and don't switch to "curry seats" with a "Korma console" and "vindaloo carpet"

Here are the latest pics of the car at Vir. Don't forget to join up at Vir before the end of December because as of Jan 1st , the initiation goes up 500% ! Now I see how a 6ft 6ins person car really make a car look small !! The passenger in the the car on the bottom picture is actually a normal sized human being (Tom Long, from Grand am fame) We do offer a taller roll bar as an upgrade which is easily fitted. All lettering and the number backgrounds can be removed and are not hiding anything.I will work out a deal if the lettering can be left on for a while though , sponsorship I guess ? http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1684060695_club1124-00386 web.JPG[/img]http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1481736323_club1124-00824 web.JPGhttp://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1346741333_club1124-00884 web.JPGhttp://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/917052341_club1124-00910 web.JPGhttp://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/47270739_club1124-02172 web.JPGhttp://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/460868248_club1124-02589 web.JPG -

I drive the car regularly on long journeys without a problem find it comfortable wearing driving shoes. This car is the wide body and has the lowered floor. It is the orange car on our website. Doug

I just wanted to let any prospective VIR country club members that the initiation fee increases from $500.00 to $2500.00 in January 08. I joined earlier this year and think it is a bargain for the benefits you get. Even at the increased price , it is still cheaper than many tracks that are half the track VIR is so act now and get a real bargain !! www.virclub.com - pleaase let them know who refered you too !! I must say that if Flyin Miata are selling these Braille batteries ,I may try one as they will NOT put their name on anything questionable which is why they have a reputation that other companys can only dream of. They also have Keith Tanner which again makes them untouchable !!! Talk about the guy who "wrote the book" on 7's.
