  1. Thanks for the replys. On the airflow question the sides of the engine compartment area has two large vents and the entire bottom of the engine bay is open. Regarding the size, it's pretty tight on top of engine. There's lots of area in the nose. The motor sits well behind the front axle. It's a well thought out clone. It already has a relay and a toggle which I just leave on 98% of the time. The waste gate does have a vacuum adjustment so it's runs from a stock 5lbs to 14-15lbs of boost when dialed up. My thought was to run a small 15"x 6" intercooler to cool that charge when on hard runs or at the track.
  2. So I'm having a new(larger) radiator made for my clone and I wanted to get some thoughts on running a full fan shroud/ pull fan which I can have made at the same time. I've read anything over ~25-30 mph and the shroud/fan combo can actually reduce cooling effectiveness. Thoughts? Background: It's a Ford 2.3L turbo motor (88 Thunderbird turbo coupe) without an intercooler so the reason for the larger radiator is to run a small intercooler in front of a portion of the radiator. I tried an IC with the current radiator but it didn't work. IC blocked too much airflow resulting in overheating.
  3. Does anyone know what these usually weigh? I love the idea of a 9k. NA motor in a 7. What are the suspension and brake details?
  4. Yea, he was supposed to call me weeks ago but never happened...
  5. Saw this on IG. Crazy would be an understatement. https://www.instagram.com/reel/C2_9BwtIdCQ/?igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
  6. Not sure what it would take but it's obviously not selling here as a track car. Making it streetable, get it titled and registered and put it on BaT would be my suggestion. OR just put it on Bat at NR and get it gone. I think the limited market here has been tried and the multiple "it's for sale" - "it's not for sale" attempts have further exhausted the limited audience. Not trying to be an ass but it sounds like you aren't driving it and it's not going to get any easier as it ages and summer takes hold. Just my 2 cents!
  7. Yea, the M49 is unobtaniun unless you have connections and a huge wallet for sure. No I think you are right, the M88 was euro cars only. And of course the M1 ran it. At least you can get the M30 B35 parts and you can get them to make good power. Terry Tinney gets great results from them and they last... If you don't miss a gear 😉
  8. Mike- I know we chatted briefly about it but don't remember the engine specs. Was it an M88? That could get expensive if so...
  9. Seller is a bit heavy with the hyperbole. "Rarest car ever made"......
  10. 950lbs? Assuming that's somewhat accurate, how did they get them so light?

  13. Very nice. It's unfortunate it's not street legal as I think your prospective market might be quite a bit larger. Having said that, it only takes one person that really wants an AX/track toy. Good luck with your sale.
  14. Congrats...Haha-It's ok, I spoke to him about it when it was for sale and it was hard to get anywhere. Your patience has paid off!
  15. Car Guy - the car still remains up on Craigslist. Did you end up passing?
  16. Anyone tried the Toyo RR's? I've heard they expanded the size ranges...
  17. My experience in CA is it's impossible unless the original title stats the term "Lotus 7 " on it somewhere. Even if it says replica you can get it massaged to lotus 7 and the early year.

  19. I have Brooklands so wear a helmet. The helmet also helps with the chilly mornings, especially when foggy on the GG bridge. I also find at highway speeds there's stuff coming off the road and the buffeting gets fairly annoying. I don't wear ear plugs but plan on adding them..
  20. Uhmm.....oh, forget it.
  21. I'm in the paintless dent camp. A good one can astound you. Seriously impressive.
  22. Has anyone heard anything about this one. Great idea... if it actually works. 23. Congrats! Lovely car. Just a thought. I have a heater and Brooklands in my book built. The heater works quite well in as much as it puts out a fair amount of volume and heat. With that said, it doesn't really help a great deal at elevated speeds or highway jaunts. What I found works best- is simpler, cheaper and with less weight is a good 12v electric motorcycle jacket liner. First Gear makes a decent selection. Just a thought.
  24. Not sure if this is already known but just discovered this great vendor (in the Netherlands) of electrical connectors and other assorted electrical ware. https://www.rdae.nl/
