  1. Yea, the M49 is unobtaniun unless you have connections and a huge wallet for sure. No I think you are right, the M88 was euro cars only. And of course the M1 ran it. At least you can get the M30 B35 parts and you can get them to make good power. Terry Tinney gets great results from them and they last... If you don't miss a gear 😉
  2. Mike- I know we chatted briefly about it but don't remember the engine specs. Was it an M88? That could get expensive if so...
  3. Seller is a bit heavy with the hyperbole. "Rarest car ever made"......
  4. 950lbs? Assuming that's somewhat accurate, how did they get them so light?

  7. Very nice. It's unfortunate it's not street legal as I think your prospective market might be quite a bit larger. Having said that, it only takes one person that really wants an AX/track toy. Good luck with your sale.
  8. Congrats...Haha-It's ok, I spoke to him about it when it was for sale and it was hard to get anywhere. Your patience has paid off!
  9. Car Guy - the car still remains up on Craigslist. Did you end up passing?
  10. Anyone tried the Toyo RR's? I've heard they expanded the size ranges...
  11. My experience in CA is it's impossible unless the original title stats the term "Lotus 7 " on it somewhere. Even if it says replica you can get it massaged to lotus 7 and the early year.

  13. I have Brooklands so wear a helmet. The helmet also helps with the chilly mornings, especially when foggy on the GG bridge. I also find at highway speeds there's stuff coming off the road and the buffeting gets fairly annoying. I don't wear ear plugs but plan on adding them..
  14. I'm in the paintless dent camp. A good one can astound you. Seriously impressive.
  15. Has anyone heard anything about this one. Great idea... if it actually works. 16. Congrats! Lovely car. Just a thought. I have a heater and Brooklands in my book built. The heater works quite well in as much as it puts out a fair amount of volume and heat. With that said, it doesn't really help a great deal at elevated speeds or highway jaunts. What I found works best- is simpler, cheaper and with less weight is a good 12v electric motorcycle jacket liner. First Gear makes a decent selection. Just a thought.
  17. Not sure if this is already known but just discovered this great vendor (in the Netherlands) of electrical connectors and other assorted electrical ware. https://www.rdae.nl/
  18. I wouldn't jump to repaint unless absolutely necessary. Much can be accomplished by giving it to a good detailer. I purchased a classic that had paint that looked like asphalt. Wet sanded and buffed and came out great. By no means perfect but it looked great from 5-10 ft
  19. Shame. She lived a hell of a life in a hell of a time and place. May she rest in peace...

  21. All that time that could have been better spent driving!
  22. Looks like a neat build. I've got a Lima powered (turbo'd) Haynes book built so I've done a little research on the guys that specialize in performance parts. Those Esslinger parts aren't cheap.. Especially that head! The other place that's quite helpful is Bopart. Super nice and willing to help. There's also a couple forums where you can find out much more on the motors and mods. The motors are tough, if a bit heavy and though yours sounds NA, I know the turbo versions can take big boost on the stock bottom ends. Best of luck with your 7! Mine is also my first and it's been an absolute blast and fun learning experience.
  23. I saw them running at the Velocity Invitational a couple weeks back. They ran a few laps of Laguna for the final. Pretty fun watching them wring them out on on the straight.
