    DeDion

for next winter. I'm very happy with EVERY mod made this year. I still did not get to modding my front suspension (when I made my current set of Aarms before the Dragon, I did not take into account the inside of the wheel interfering with them when the wheel is turned all the way - still have to do that. The other thing, is the poor ride quality on bumpy surfaces due to the rear... so I'm thinking about it. No more mods this driving season though, unless something breaks. Enjoying the car WAY too much right now. Independent rear is out of the question for me given my frame layout, but DeDion is a possibility.

Does anyone here have good detailed drawings / pictures of their DeDion setup?
  3. You can look, but you can't touch... unless you have a sham wow
  4. The right one is blocked by the reflection of the red tool box.
  5. I should be able to do that 3 days this week. Downside is that it's right outside my window now, and I'm feeling a bit distracted.
  6. not a whole lot of lightness being added there.
  7. 3000 miles a year is kind of a bummer
  8. I have the Pumas and am happy with them, but I can also drive my seven with regular dress shoes without much of a problem.
  9. If Rob's set doesn't work, I had a custom set made by an outfit in Maryland. I got them through Dennis Hedges. I don't remember exact dimensions, but they were widened for me. I can run upto 305 18's with no problem
  10. sweet... hope to see you there. praying there is no rain
  11. very nice
  12. Arya's brother is graduating the same day. I have left him a message to see if he can push it back to December
  13. Hank, I would think so as well. if they are a stickler, they might say something about lack of a diagonal where the doors would be. I could live with the first design in the drawing, but I'm pretty certain my car is faster than 10.99...
  14. Landing strip is the only one there that has potential. I haven't heard of any of them renting out to cars for that purpose though around here. Bob Drye was telling me about one in the Carolinas that does a flying mile type of event around this time of the year.
  15. visited the local drag strip with a friend friday night. kind of got the bug to run it sometimes, but in speaking with the tech guy, I will need a full cage and scatter proof bell housing. I asked him if a blanket is OK and he said it has to be a bellhousing, not a blanket. So... where can I make a nice wide open run (standing quarter mile)? public highway not acceptable Alternatively, if you have a full NHRA acceptable bolt-on cage, show me some pics.
  16. This one is a home brew
  17. you should double check your work. I put about 120 miles on the car today in various trips. last night I painted the passenger side header (laaaate at night, as usual), bolted it on and went to bed. This morning I jumped in, fired it up, drove it down the driveway - thinking to myself it sounds different, even though it's idling ok... shut it off, got out and realized I had left the passenger side spark plug wires unplugged . Amazingly enough it managed to maintain idle speed just fine with 4 cylinders unplugged... the "oddness" of the sound was from the quiet passenger side.
  18. I'm not sure how stiff the floor is specifically on a Birkin. My floor easily supports my weight standing up. it's .060 aluminum.
  19. it's absolutely glorious here today. So, after leaving the house at 5AM yesterday and not getting back till midnight, I stayed up another 3 hours and changed wheels and finished my alignment so I could drive her to work today. At lunch, I rumbled into one of our regular lunch places. One of the customers came out and asked me which engine is in it. I said it's an LS1. Then, with the biggest grin on his face he says: "factory?" LOL.
  20. There are quite a few rotary powered Rotus sevens around.
  21. afternoon highs in the low 70s. Anyone up for a couple hour cruise around upper montgomery / frederick counties?
  22. he won't ship... and C6 wheels are even bigger than C5 wheels at 18" front and 19" rear. I'll have to run the RA-1's for a while until i can recover from my tax payment. Still not walking straight
