  1. wow, im late in the game. first id like to welcome you to the elite group of people who own 7's and to this forum. if your wheel is a 6.5" you should be able to use a 205 tire no problem. i recall my old 92 vw corrado came stock with 15x6.5 wheels and 205x50x15 tires. here is a pic of what that size looks like. http://i295.photobucket.com/albums/mm158/oliver_1987/SDC11896.jpg also you can try to find more info the wheel/tire section on this forum
  2. i wanted to trade in a old 94 buick century v6 for a passat cc but they will not take it because it gets 20mpg combined... and need 18
  3. 7 is back in my hands and is NOT SMOKING!!!! YAYAYAYAYYA. PICS OF NEW PIPING TO COME LATER
  4. im acutally thinking about doing this in my car for that same reason!
  5. hopefully i will have enough clearance.
  6. spoke to the blouch turbo and was told the following. turbo is at 30 degrees which is breaking the cardinal rule of turbo mounting. oil is pooling on the exhaust side causing blow by by the seal of the exhaust side. as told to me by bob at blouch: the garret ball bearing turbo is a very simple unit and most of the oil leak problems that he sees are related to improper oil routing (not my issue) and improper mounting angle. also the seals are not a neoprene or rubber type. they are metal and basically piston rings so they dont "blow" like older turbos. they generally get wear on them after the bearing fails and begins to rub them. ive already spoken to the fab shop, we are trying to get this fixed asap.

  8. so the turbo system is done, well the fabricator is done... i brought her home on wed and right away i had issues im blowing smoke. im praying right now its not the turbo but im losing hope every mile. i have already upgraded the pcv valve as well as put a breather on the other crank case vent, and put a oil restictor on the inbound feed side with no luck. im hoping that the oil im seeing is leftovers from what leaked into the sistem but its looking grim at this point. thats what i get for trying to get away with a used turbo.... anyway, here come the pics new autometer sport comp 2 gauges, center channel exhaust routing and final turbo pix. things i dont like but will be fixed over time: welded up coolant line coming around the motor lack of cooling to radiator http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/5953/cimg2771resize.jpg http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/8125/cimg2762resize.jpg http://img193.imageshack.us/img193/1769/cimg2767resize.jpg

  10. update with more crappy pics, yayayyayayayya! http://img36.imageshack.us/img36/1560/cimg2754resize.jpg http://img191.imageshack.us/img191/1585/cimg2749resize.jpg http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/556/cimg2751resize.jpg things to see: ~ intercooler is now all plumed - im not overly exited about some of the wide bends or reductions to small pipe. will be fixed when i make this all pretty over the winter. ~ turbo downpipe is almost done, and need to install some bungs for my O2's. ~ exhaust is going to be in 4 sections for ease of removal. 1)turbo header to the pipe that runs beside the trans and frame 2) straight pipe that runs along trans to frame between the seats 3) from frame between seats to y splitter 4) from the splitter going to the two mufflers (incoming 18" hushpower II mufflers next week) on a side note the shop secured my fuel tank so it no longer slides side to side when i pull some g's. cant wait to try it out. o btw, car will be done tomorrow baring any issues
  11. exhaust is not going to go out the side, period. i am well aware that this is not optimal. regarding the turbo, its a gt28r.
  12. unfortunately i have 0 room for large exhaust as im running it down the center channel. i will be happy if i can fit the 2.5". im running no cat and 2 2" resonators (after y pipe) out the back. i think for my 8-10psi setup im not going to be left wanting. btw, i dont have a westfield, i have a world class motorsports ulralite.
  13. sorry for delays. i got the rest of the clamps/silicone elbows/ flex pipe to the shop on thursday but there were others lines up so im waiting my turn. all thats left is : ~ finish fitting ic system / install clamps ~ connect exhaust outlet to exhaust (possibly redo exhaust with 2.5" pipe!!!) ~ install some heat shielding under the hood/along frame so i dont blister the paint ~ coat turbo (hot side), turbo header, downpipe. all mods to make this mess good looking will be done over the winter
  14. nt05 is a new tire from nitto for 09 dont know if its extream or not. treadware is 200 but i like the pattern a lot better then then 615-rt.
  15. i just came a cross a deal for a set of 235/40/18 and 2 245/40/18 in the new nitto nt05 tire (rated better then the falken 615-rt). i can get these to my door for $574 with all the warranties in tact. i was hoping for a 225 front and a 255 rear but they dont make that size(yet). there is a MARGINAL difference in tire width so im hoping to not have any problems like i would with exact same width all around.
  16. right now i am set on the 18's because i like the way they fill the fender wells. also being that its just a day driving type tire i dont see the need to push for high end stuff like r888 (besides that it would cost about $1000 for a set).
  17. so im getting a set of 18" "leisure shoes" for the 7 and taking the 19's back to my daily. im going to go with 225/40/18 front and 245/40/18 rear. i already have a set of track wheels and tires so this set wont generally make it to the track, but there is always a chance i could put it on a road course (lessons). so the question. do i spend $1000 on re-11's or do i get a set of cheepies i can beat the life out of for $350. in the past ive always bought cheepies nankang/linlong tiresoff ebay for my big wheels on my daily drivers. i have been very happy with the result, even when i beat the crap out of them... help?
  18. powderbrake, i seem to have the same tank but mounted differently. id love to see the inside of a tank with baffles and/or those valves/flaps/foam http://img269.imageshack.us/img269/9207/cimg2595resize.jpg
  19. second link no worky
  20. here is the spec sheet for this car http://evolvec30.com/site/img/article/EVOLVE_C30_Spec_Sheet.pdf
  21. i think i may take u up on that offer!
  22. hello, i have the same tank pump setup as you. i am thinking about using fuel foam on the sides of my tank and weld in some baffles closer to center for a quicker pickup in the center. im trying to avoid buying a second tank and pump. id love to see what others have dont to resolve this issue.
  23. Im having a lot of slosh in my 12+ gallon tank and im looking to fuel foam for the solution. Any recommendations or brand preferences?
