  1. ... for use in vintage-race prepped Lotus Seven. Thanks! jd
  2. Not to bomb his thread, but if he doesn't reply, I've got a drawer of similar bushings... for both radius rods (trailing arms) and the 'base' of the a frame. Cheers, jd
  3. Wayne! Didn't SB1497 come with clamshells? Where did these come from and what are you lookin' to get for them? PS, the ones I sold did include brand new brackets with headlamp mounts. I have yet another set of original brackets, but without the mounts in case someone needs those!
  4. These are now sold. Thanks USA 7s!
  5. agreed... looks like an investment grade Caterham to me, and the best deal since the 1990's Cat on ebay for $19k. I'm actively looking for a buyer for this car now!
  6. Dana, I have a pair (in fact they are the ones shown in the photos by Kim Baker). Shoot me an email if you're still interested in them at significantly less cost.
  7. I have an extra pair of new, unused original Caterham brackets... shoot me an email. Cheers, jd
  8. I have a pair of the Lucas L700 buckets for you reasonably priced, if you have the wiring bits. Email me at johnd@simplesevens.org
  9. Is your car known by SimpleSevens? They might have a cast catch or two available...
  10. Steve, send me your email address and I'll send you photos. Nothing's broken, the nose is mostly repaired, just needs finishing. I took a ton of bondo off it and fixe it corretly with fiberglass... Oh, just noticed you say 1985 S3 -- that's a Caterham then? Do you know if it uses the original Lotus shaped nose or the Caterham nose? They are slightly different...
  11. Allan, did you find a windscreen? I've got an original set-up for you... email me: johnd@simplesevens.org
  12. Hey Allan, I have a complete original S2 Screen available, stanchions and all... email me on johnd@simplesevens.org and we can talk -- for all I know we've been in touch before! Cheers, John D
  13. I have a Lotus S2 nose in need of repair... would be same as S3 presuming Lotus scuttle and bonnet. Email me (johnd@simplesevens.org) and I can send you pics. Shipping from MI to NM might still be a bit spendy though...
  14. kim, did you find the parts? I have headlights and wiper motor/assembly. My tail lights went to Colaizzi but maybe the went from him to you? No windscreen at the moment though.
  15. did you find one? I have a couple on the shelf in various conditions...
  16. Any one looking to buy a genuine Lotus Seven is well advised to check with the Lotus Seven Register (http://www.lotus7register.co.uk) whether there is suspicion or not. Paperwork might get you a license plate, but by itself, a title does not make a car genuine. It's all too easy to fudge one as we almost saw here.
  17. Hi Hami, No I don't have any info on SB1502 -- are you sure of chassis number and year? SB1502 sounds more like a '62 car... my SB1135 was June 1961... If you have any photos or history I can put up a page on SimpleSevens we can see if we find a previous owner.
  18. For those so inclined, there are few more nice photos of a Lotus Seven TCSS here: http://www.simplesevens.org/50Years/50YearsGallery.htm scroll down the page a bit to see them... no I didn't get a ride in it although spent a nice evening talking to owner Phil Jewell :-)
  19. I don't wear hats, but I do wear good sunglasses and keep my mouth closed at speed :-)
  20. Nice car... if I ever get 'round to putting Caterhams on SimpleSevens, that'll be in the first batch :-) Did I already ask this question: is there a sensible cut-off date or model or spec change to the early Caterham Sevens? Other than going from the last of the SIVs back to S3, what was the first fundamental change that Caterham made to the Seven?
  21. Minimal or no windscreen gets my vote :-))) An old Brooklands aero screen is enough to deflect the big bugs and allows a straight smooth wind blast rather than the usual side o' the head buffetting :-)))
  22. When I told a Harley rider I had 948cc's he laughed heartily... you should have seen his face drop when I told him the car weighed in just over 900 lbs... "... my Harley weighs more than that" he said soberly :-)))
  23. Pretty, but bucket seats? It's like a Lotus Seven hot rod! What's up with the tail lamps (or lack thereof)! Cheers!
  24. Aw heck, new chassis and panelling... is there a chassis number? Such a careful rebuild and it's got Lucas stop/tail lamps??? Oops! Give it a set of Wingards and I'd give it a second look... nice deDion :-)
  25. Yah, it could happen :-))) BTW It's .org not .com :-) In general, how many early Caterhams are around? I mean, say, prior to any fundamental changes made by Caterham to the original Lotus design?
