Same setup in the back. I guess you are probably pretty close either 250 or 300. I believe 300 was the baseline setup for a lot of these cars. Some wcm people put heavier springs in the front, but the balance of the car is heavier in the rear. So I would think if anything heavier springs would go in the rear. I think the real solution is adding an anti-roll bar. Anti roll bars would be a fantastic add.

I measured 11mm

I've sent qa1 an email to see if there is any way to identify these springs without taking it apart!
-
Not sure what my spring rates are but would love to find out. I looked for markings on them but can't see anything. No front roll bar.

Charles I have spares here both front and rears. If you wanted to borrow one to get it duplicates im sure we could work something out. Alternatively as someone suggested some fiberglass or cf replacements would be cheaper and probably a nice weight savings....

I want the electric one, but my $$$ is all tied up in the WCM

I watched this race and it was awesome to see the yellow super 7 out there. I think the solution to some of the objections to the SCCA handicapping these is to run a different classification. This is something I've advocated for in a different thread. An inclusive classification for many different types of super 7's would be incredible

It was a very fun day indeed. Beautiful fall weather out there, and the property is wide open like a park. The dark black asphalt was very slippery in the morning then got better in the afternoon. I decided to go with Toyo R tires for my track setup and they don't work so well until they warm up. The 7 was keeping up with some heavy metal out there for sure but the aero penalty kicked in severely on the long straight away there. Drag coefficient is about 0.7 vs. 0.3 for your average sedan. That makes a huge difference over 80mph. Top speed I saw was 118 at the end of the front straight away. Another nice experience was taking the wind screens off and running helmet to the wind - that definitely added to the experience....

Here is an example of some pretty lousy driving as it was my first time out at Grattan raceway. I found this race track a little bit hard to master because there are so many turns that are blind. First few laps coming into them my thought process was.... is this going to be a left or right hand turn???? scary stuff! Especially combined with the cool, slippery conditions in the morning on this fall day. But after lunch it was a little easier.

Hello WCM owners, I have a line on a 2004 WRX STI differential. I did the swap a couple weeks ago after breaking the original WRX r160/ diff pinion This deal came through after my swap was already completed, but it is a much better deal than I got so thought I'd throw it up here Details -seller is asking $700 -images I saw of it looks very nice -2004 STI (only model year sti with 5x100 bolt pattern) -R180 -plated, 3.9 final drive ratio This one is hard to find... If you have the wcm, you should strongly consider it. Along with the diff you will swap the axles, knuckles, hubs. The pickup points on the STI knuckles are the same - my alignment didn't change hardly after this. You will end up with a much stronger, less compliant rear end than the r160 and base WRX parts the car comes with. Also you will get a fully blown mechanical LSD @RGTorque @Bruce K

Here is a video from today at Waterford Hills Road Racing. I got it under 1:15 before the differential broke -

Our daughter (9) is making custom helmet visor strips. They are turning out pretty good! She is selling them for $5 for 2 strips with transfer tape. Made out of good quality removable vinyl. Please send your initials, and desired color, and make/model of your helmet. She would really appreciate the business!

Much better!! here are some pictures of my WCM light upgrades. Same thought process as you followed, pretty much

Certainly. Just let me know which ones to take

Super 7 Race Class at Waterford Hills, Michigan

If you ever want to come back, there are lots of days where friends will rent the track out and there are about 10 cars total with corner workers present. We run as much as we can from noon till the end of the day. My idea for bringing a dozen or more cars together and collecting points over the year might not work, but still hoping to get some interest -
Hello folks, I am seriously interested in racing on track with other super 7's. There is a good opportunity to do so at a track called "Waterford Hills Road Racing" in South East Michigan. At Waterford, my super 7 runs 1:15 with me driving. I am not fast at all so the car could probably go a lot faster. Full race corvettes with slicks also do 1:15. We're faster out at Waterford because the course is twisty and in my opinion, perfectly geared towards our cars. This track is newly repaved, very relaxed & family oriented, well attended, and just generally very accessible and has a good vibe. I've made some inroads with the management here and the local SCCA folks who are supportive of bringing super 7's into the equation at Waterford. There are 6 race weekends per year here, open track days, drivers training, and social opportunities too. This is a feeler to see if anyone would possibly travel to Michigan once or 6x per year to compete with other super 7's. Really hoping!

Hello Charles, if you do end up ordering a batch, I would pitch in for spares for my wcm. Alternatively if you need any measurements for your fabrication work I can take some from my car. I recently had some lower rear control arms made. The person who made them now has a fixture and can build more on demand.

One more thing to note is that the race setup is 15 inch wheels with 9.5" hoosiers all around. I do have the 15 inch wheels on hand, and required spacers, but at this point I see no reason to install them. -

From the factory the car has 225/17's front and 245/17 rears. I stuck with this staggered setup and am running Enki wheels. 8 inch front 9 inch back Tires are 225/40ZR-17 CONTINENTAL EXTREMECONTACT FORCE XL 245/40ZR-17 CONTINENTAL EXTREMECONTACT FORCE XL This is a newer option for the autocross-street style tires. Seems fine to me. My reasons for buying these was that they can take more heat cycles, and since the super 7 will never wear out the treads, heat cycling them out will end them. On track they are very quiet, no noise when cornering which is a little bit weird. Other cars are really screeching which seems to help figure out the limits of the car. Mine is very quiet, and ive looped it a couple times without much notice from tire noise. I have nothing to compare these to. But they seem fine to me??? -

Hello, yes I found a local business on google maps called elevated restyling in Livonia Michigan. They really did a great job all for $1600. They even made some decals for the car, stripes and added some fender protective film which has been holding up great. Diy wrap might be difficult especially with the nose piece. Regarding the manual, I've contributed a few of my own mods to it and borrowed several ideas from what is in there too. Biggest improvements by me are the electrical including an AEM display/logger that replaces all the standard gauges. Mirrors with 3d printed brackets, wheels and tires, oil pan, engine mounts, setup and corner balance, lighting, newton fuel tank vent valve to avoid fumes in the garage, steering wheel changed, pedal box was reworked including cables and links, fuel pump, filters and PTFE lines, exhaust all redone, upholstery was also redone including some modifications to the shifter lever and boot to make it nice. -

Hello, it seems that there isn't much opportunity to get the car out on track for wheel to wheel competition. They are having fun in England with the caterham academy. What would it take to get a series established for super 7 competition here in the states? I know I'm willing to travel with my wcm. Here in Michigan it seems that club level W2W is done with spec miatas, or srf Ford's. Not much opportunity to compete with my 7 it seems other than oddball events. What's the interest level?

Here are some pictures from yesterday of the car on track. What a monster! Took about a half day to get a feel for it. I think we will get along just fine!
