  1. My local trackday wont allow slicks, so need to stick to road tires. how much quicker are these vs ZZR Extreme?
  2. Im trying the Kumho v70A this time. I already tried AR1s, and were "OK"... better than r888 in my opinion, and cheaper.
  3. Wanted to give my .02 I have tried Nankang AR1 and ZZR Extreme Nankangs in 185/60/13 - 205/60/13 ZZR in 185/55/13 - 215/55/13 The ZZR are on a league of their own in every aspect, I managed almost 3 seconds a lap over the AR1s in a slow technical track (1.6 miles) The AR1s come up to temp quick but fade after a 2-3 laps, while the ZZR maintain more consistent pace. On my Elise, I tried back to back R888R and AR1s and found the AR1 superior, I think the Toyo is a very old compound that is not up to date to the modern tires. I have not tired A64 compound on ZZR, but since the availability is kind of hit and miss, decided to try the Kumho on the bigger sizes 215/50/13 and 235/45/13. I have a track outing this Wednesday and will report back. I'm also testing new suspension (Quantum one zero) ditching my old R420 race spec dampers, so won't be apples to apples.
  4. Thanks! cant believe didn't read that footnote that mentioned about the red wire. Mine is NPN, so will test adding 12V to pin 3 with the load resistor
  5. Nono, my car is 2015 R300 Racecar, that had no speedo at all. I bough a full set of used gauges, a new 420 wiring harness and speed sensor. Retrofitted everything. I using the latest speed sensor (the one that has the led): https://caterhamparts.co.uk/senders/6707-rear-wheel-speed-sensor-kit-de-dion-cars.html The 420 OEM harness indeed used pin 7 as the input on the speedo connector, but out of the box, it didn't work. That why I tried 3/6.
  6. The original PIN with the oem harness from a 420R, was 7. and it didnt work, so tried 3/6 to test. just set 1000 as de PPU and no luck. Still unsure if 0.6V is the correct voltage for the pulses...
  7. Thanks. I'm retrofiting one. mine was a racecar and did not come with speedo. I tested 3/6 because that pinout shows it's also a input, but there are so many speedo variants... I have tested each pin, the car on stands and the needle won't move. Speedo sweeps the needle and lights up, I can enter the ppu menu and setup Will try with a very low ppu to see if it moves at all....
  8. Can someone point me in the direction of this speedo pinout? Bought used and can't seem to make it work. I found a pinout online, but not sure it's the same... (But pin 1/5/8 match the pinout) I have tested pin 6/7 and even 3 for the speedo signal, and no movement at all. Speedo boots and sweeps the needle OK, I can set the PPU, but it won't move at all. Also tried Drive PPU, but won't move either. When sensor is on tooth it registers 0.6V on the pin that gets to the speedo and 0v when not on tooth. - speedo sensor light up on every tooth - 1K resistor is in place between pin 1 and speedo wire (currently pin 7) - ground is to chasis Not sure what else to try.... Thanks!!
  9. Hi everyone, I wanted to share a bit about my project and ask if anyone here has experience with this setup. I own a 2105 Caterham R300 (ex racer that in slowly converting to street, 210 hp Duratec, currently with an older analog loom + analog gauges) and I’m upgrading to the newer Caterham OEM CAN-based gauges (Caerbont Automotive Instruments). What I’m Trying to Do: I’m running the MBE9M4 ECU, which has CAN H/L available and is already pushing things like RPM + coolant temp over CAN. I’m looking to configure it to correctly feed: Tachometer (CAN) Water temp (CAN) Oil pressure (once I wire the sender to the ECU) Fuel level (this one’s tricky — Caterham’s gauge expects CAN, but I’m unsure if the MBE can handle fuel input or if I need a CAN bridge) 1. Has anyone here done this conversion or worked with this gauge + ECU combo? 2. Does anyone with a newer 420R (2015+) with the MBE9M4 and CAN gauges have Easimap + CAN interface access and could help pull or export their CAN stream configuration? 3. How do modern Caterhams handle signal from ECU on the CAN line? Are they wired into the ECU first, or is there an extra module in the harness? My current setup: ECU: MBE9M4 (unlocked) Gauges: Fuel gauge: 30D060A Tachometer: 30D057A Oil pressure: 30D059A Water temp: 30D061A Loom: Caterham OEM loom (CAN line prewired, just needs ECU splice) I’m also working with SBD Motorsport to sort the CAN stream configuration, but I thought the community might have some great insights or even reference configs. If anyone has experience, tips, or even is willing to share a CAN config file from their car, I’d hugely appreciate it! Some pics of my car This is my old dash layout: some WIP: the new layout: Happy to share more pics or details! Thank you so much in advance! Best, Daniel
  10. I bought these as a project to swap my ford diff to BMW, with matching propshaft and driveshafts, but ultimately decided to stick to the ford sierra diff Driveshafts Propshaft R500 Sequential.... Price: 1500 US
  11. Didn't know this was possible. Good luck with sale, but can you share some info? Did you make a connector to the speedo? Need this on my car!!
  12. Thanks! I'm In Colombia, so can't really send in my diff. My diff is from the R420 racecar, so I believe it has the sintered plates. Can't find much info on rebuilding those. I bought parts from a 485R to swap the drivetrain to mine (propshaft, bmw LSD Diff and driveshafts) but it's quite the project, since I have Sadev and 485s came with manual. Mine was a racer and have been trying to tame it down for mixed use.
  13. Hey guys! Anybody know of any refresh kit or anybody that sells parts to rebuild the Ford LSD. Caterham sell rebuild kits for BMW LSD, but can't find anything, specially this side of the pond, to rebuild my diff. It's getting pretty noisy and clucky. Thanks!
  14. Interested in the cams and rods! Do the rods fit standard pistons? Looking for a step up from my ~220 HP engine, to ~260HP. How aggressive are this cams? And you used them with stock valves? Or just changed springs. I currently have SBD camshaft on stock valves/springs, stock internarse, upgraded rod bearings and ITB. Thanks!
  15. Looking for used or new , in pairs preferred. Can be cloth, leather or vinyl. Thanks!
