Mating a Miata transmission to the Busa Engine
TLRracer replied to scannon's topic in Bike Engined Sevens
Probably the single most important article for anyone who ever considered a bike-engined car but was worried about the connected problems inherent with that mix. With the 'busa engine and a Miata transmission any 7 could be bike-engined with no reverse issues whatsoever - the reason bike-engined 7's blow the bike's tranny is because of the load on it from a heavier car - the problem - she is a solvedd! This article answers soooo many questions for me:) I emailed the magazine and the guy doing this project is coming back from Germany in 3 weeks and will be back on ze case:) jd -

I'm thinking you have a flat tire... and if there was oil under the car I am pretty sure you have an oil leak too. Time to buy a new tire.

when I get my car it is usually just myself or myself and my daughter - my wife calls us dumb and dumber - DMBDMR

Lights schmights when you stop going fast hit the go faster switch (shift!) When I was racing unlimited superbike I didn't have time to look at the tach or anything - it all happens too fast - use your ears and your other senses - you will figure out when to shift without gizmos....

Hey gang, Has anyone brought in (imported) a 7 from Canada? I have a line on a nice car but am worried about customs - does anyone have any information on this? I checked with Hawaii dmv and it appears to me that it could come in as a Special Interest Vehicle - like a hot rod or a replicar..... It meets all information under SIV's for Hawaii's DOT but I am wondering if I am missing something. BTW no emissions testing in Hawaii.

I had a CB500/four in College. I loved that bike:) One day it wasn't running great so I took it to Ray's Honda in High Point NC. Ray with his thick southern accent and military looking crewcut listened to it and blipped the throttle a bit. His advice was: boy - get out on the highway, put her in second gear, and pull her ears back goooood. I took his advice and the bike ran great. I had been babying her too much and got gooked up - so get on out there and pull her ears back good !

Does anyone have any used race tires I could buy? I am looking for a set of 225/45 or 50/15 Hoosiers/Hankooks/Toyo/Yokohama Any good autocross tire or roadrace tire would be fine. I have a spare set of rims and want to see what a good pair of race tires does to my autocross times. My stock CS times are only 4 seconds off the EM and other modified guys so I might bite them with the sticky stuff. I don't mind if they are about half to 75% but I need to be able to get some runs out of them. Please email me at jackdea@gol.com or leave a message here. thanks Jack on Maui

but but but I may really lowball him. If you got it wicked cheap it would still be a bargain for like 8/ten thou.... put in a new Zetec and tranny and you're styling.. I like those Westfield bodies - plus it has side curtains and a top etc......

I contacted the guy about the Westfield. Or at least tried to. I asked if my friend who lives in Portland could take a test drive - his answer - for a $500 dollar deposit. That seems weird, she won't run off in it - but if it busts while she is driving it he makes $500.... I tracked down Krobar Clothing, sent an email about the Westfield asking some questions - the email came back asking for my phone number but not answering any questions. My friend called the dealership / the ex owner of the dealership owns the car - they are out of business.

I have studied both kits online and am wondering what the opinion would be of this group on these two kits? Which would be a better product? I would like to ask the boards opinion on which bike motor would be the most fun. No highways on Maui so it is just fun curvy roads. Thanks Jack

Hey Gang, I am still here and still looking for a Superstalker on or near the West Coast. Does anyone know of any for sale out this way? My price point remains the same but I do promise the car will be driven daily and raced with abandon on SCCA weekends. Thanking you in advance for any information you may have. Jack on Maui

Hey Gang, Just got back from a trip to Atlanta and San Francisco - anybody have any news on a used super stalker for sale? I wanted to see some cars while I was traveling but had my nose to the grindstone Jack on Maui

Thanks John! If the car is already registered in another state I don't think it would be a big deal to register it here.... heck you can put kids in the back of a pickup truck and ride a motorcycle with no helmet so a Stalker should be cake..... i'm sure I can't build one - not a good mechanic at all - I used to do routine maintenance on my face machines but anything big the shop would always handle it. I usually end up with parts left over..... Jack
