  1. Or he doesn't have both chopstix in the chow mein, depending on how you look at it
  2. You beat out MoPho too
  3. Thanks JBH So everyone on the Lotus forum had been asking me why I am selling my Lotus. So I finally showed them, and of course everyone is thrilled. This response from one of the locals cracked me up http://www.websmileys.com/sm/happy/028.gif
  4. Both were fine. Co-Driver is Christian Edstrom, whom some of you may know him from the BAM SR27 article in 0-60 magazine ( I shot the Lotus story), just took his time getting out. Travis is carrying the emergency triangles and an OK sign to warn the other teams that there is a wreck and that they are fine, it's part of the rules. Other teams are required to stop and make sure the team that crashed are alright if they don't see the "ok" I got the pictures BTW
  5. I am the guy in the yellow jacket http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-6411697002899154586
  6. Yeah, pretty anxious for sure, I have to go to Korea for a shoot next week so that might help get my mind off it for a bit.
  7. Yeah, I have been up to Pikes Peak four times, but I would have loved to see it when Ari and Juha were going at it, those cars were amazing. When I shot it, the cars were a bit more tame I pretty much stopped shooting rally a few years ago after I was famously nearly killed
  8. Would love to! I've been up there, know Caliente- Bodfish rd and Brekenridge rds, and around lake isabella, shoot magazine stuff up there every now and then. Fabulous rds!!
  9. I had that problem too, but of course my first one was in the snow
  10. I have to sell my Elan before I can do any modding. I am sure the car will be more than enough for a while Phew, I knew I forgot to ask you something Actually, that is good to know because I would like to some of the road/navigation rallies out here
  11. LOL, it took me two days to convince WM that I wasn't lying about it! My sense of adventure says to drive it across, but in reality I would rather put the miles on the car driving twisty mountain rds (wouldn't have the time to do a cross country trip on the fun roads) and it actually would be about the same money to ship it
  12. I bought Orange http://www.websmileys.com/sm/happy/1209.gif After a week of staring at the pictures and drooling on the computer thinking I was going to miss out on such an opportunity, my wife turned to me and said "would you stop staring at that picture and just buy the thing already!" http://www.websmileys.com/sm/happy/1074.gif Somehow I think I may have made a deal with the devil on that one, it's already started with the back massages :skep: After a week of talking on the phone with Al, I feel that not only have I gained a beautiful car, I have made a new friend and I look forward to him getting back into the Seven saddle. Sadly for Orange's East Coast friends the car will be moving to the West Coast, but if it makes you feel any better, I am a New Yorker/Bostonian (only lived here in CA for 3 years). The SoCal Seveners have been fantastic in helping me make my decision, they gave me advice and even let me drive their cars. Thanks to Tony V and Boxologist for their general advice about sevens as well Thanks again to Al for everything Look forward to becoming a part of the community and going on plenty of blats! Morgan
  13. Maybe it's because of my rallying background and a love of classic cars, but I think that seeing a car slide around progressively like that tells me more about the handling than just being able to take corners fast. The driver was most certainly inducing the oversteer intentionally The fifth gear video in the other thread gives a pretty good idea that you can get the Cat to turn good times too. The Lotus are great too, my father has a Supercharged Elise, it is a lot of fun
  14. They follow me ... This is what happens when you work from home and you have Sevens on the brain http://emoticons4u.com/crazy/282.gif I think the only other place I posted them was on the Lotus forum http://emoticons4u.com/sad/533.gif
  15. Here is another CSR vs Toniq R
  16. Someone on the Lotus forum sort of translated the gist: He liked both cars and didn't pick a winner. Apparently, he liked the old-school feel of sitting above the rear axle in the CSR260 and he liked the low polar inertia of the 211. But which car left him panting... http://emoticons4u.com/cool/653.gif
  17. It's in German but the footage is awesome even if you can't understand it ( I can't) YouTube - DMAX D Motor - Lotus 2 eleven vs. Caterham CSR260 Superlight
  18. Here you go http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3e_CA4NxZYU
  19. Car magazines, car companies, race teams, etc. Thanks
  20. Hi Martin http://emoticons4u.com/happy/125.gif we keep missing each other on the SoCal meets/drives. Look forward to seeing your car.
  21. LOL, yeah it started as joke email name back when I was in my 20's and somehow it stuck. Some of my friends even call me that in public :banghead:
  22. Now that I have posted a few times, I probably should introduce myself My name is Morgan, I am an automotive photographer based in the LA area. Currently own a 1967 Lotus Elan that is highly modified, but always dreamed of owning a Seven and have decided to make it a reality. Unfortunately, need to sell the Elan first If you are interested, you can see some of my work on my website www.morgansegal.com Look forward to becoming part of the community
  23. Thank you much. Looking to register it up in the Prescott area
  24. Thanks for the reply. I did manage to find some DMV info, but good to get real experience feedback. So if you brought in a used and built Caterham from out state, I wonder how they come up with a book value, I can't imagine such cars are in their system. Since they went by the cost of the kit on your car, did that include the engine and transmission? Isn't smog requirements isolated to the Phoenix area in AZ?
  25. Apologies if this has been discussed before, I did not find anything with a search What does it take to register a Seven in AZ, is there any special hoops to jump through or is it straight forward? and how do they do a tax assessment on the car, is it just based on the bill of sale? Thanks
