  1. I have not found 200hp to be difficult to drive at all, find it just right actually. The only difficulty is in ones self control, which I fail miserably at Jake is coming off a pretty bad ass Radical, so I imagine a lower horsepower 7 is not going to do it for him. .
  2. Or extremely rich. It costs a lot of money to make anything "really fast" Subaru's are quite fast out of the box, and it doesn't take a lot of money to make them a very fast street car. If you want to make it a very fast race/rally car, it can add up

  4. Here is some video I took
  5. Do not post about politics!!!!!!!!! Another forum I am on has gone crazy with political threads and now everyone hates on each other, it is terrible
  6. Not sure what my schedule is going to be, but if I find you in the giant sea of stuff, I will say helloooooooo......
  7. I will be there on assignment
  8. Get yourself up to LA some day, there is a lot of action here http://www.lotustalk.com/forums/attachments/f96/89913d1220389487-los-angeles-sunday-drive-meet-8-30am-leave-9-00am-part-2-1.jpg http://www.lotustalk.com/forums/attachments/f96/89915d1220389487-los-angeles-sunday-drive-meet-8-30am-leave-9-00am-part-2-3.jpg
  9. A big turbo and about $50k. It dyno'd at 459whp, and with all that he could not lose me in the canyons He actually admits that it is perhaps too much power for the car
  10. He stopped, waved and then took off. He sometimes will stop and hang out for a bit, but he had two passengers in the car (car seats three with driver in the middle), so I imagine it would have been a small project to get out of the car LOL
  11. Had a lovely drive today as well, ran into a friend with his Turbo Exige (almost 500hp! :ack: ) and someone with an F430, nice guy, he had to work hard to keep up. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3288/2915943473_76aed8f048_o.jpg But just when you think you are cool, Jay Leno shows up in his McLaren F1 http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3012/2916788568_72873ab7cb_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3230/2916788680_b780e8bbbd_o.jpg
  12. Oy, I cant even deal with reading boiler plate on insurance forms, etc., makes my eyes roll into the back of my head. :banghead: I had One Beacon insurance on my DD cars back when I lived in Boston, can't say anything about them since I never made a claim, but I can confirm their existence I pay about $600 for the Caterham and $300 for the Lotus via Hagerty with the plus road service which has been excellent
  13. I have Hagerty on my Lotus and on the Caterham, I just called them and mentioned this, they assured me that I am covered for damage to the car from an uninsured motorist via the Agreed Value coverage. You may want to call them to clarify. I have to say, that they are really wonderful to deal with, I have had to use their protection plan for towing a few times now and it has been fabulous
  14. I have to say, I can rarely understand your posts, are you suggesting you were going to insult me and that I wouldn't show up because of it? Unless I hit the lottery, I won't be going to Branson anyway
  15. Well I am New England Transplant, so above 32 degrees in winter is shorts and t-shirt weather Admittedly, each year I become more acclimated to the temps here, when I first moved I laughed at all the people wearing winter coats in 40 deg temps, now I freeze my arse off :ack: I've been up on Cerro Noroestre Road to find there was a couple of feet of snow
  16. I only get earthquake season where I live, but that's like only once ever ten years or so, and if you are prepared before hand, it will make a good James Bond Martini
  17. What's this rain and cold weather you speak of?
  18. Been out all morning in the car
  19. I thought mine was too quiet, so I threw an exhaust on it I believe resale value on P5's is closer to $7-8k
  20. Are you serious about only wanting to spend $5k? And how is a Talon only 3 years old? I would suggest a Mazda Protege 5, had one, great car, fun to drive http://www.edmunds.com/pictures/VEHICLE/2003/Mazda/100124884/2003.mazda.protege5.6954-396x249.jpg Hyundai Accent sport http://www.edmunds.com/pictures/VEHICLE/2008/Hyundai/2008.hyundai.accent.20142304-396x249.jpg

  22. It must have been cool to see the Group B cars go up. Now Pikes Peak is fairly lame IMO, been 4 times since 02. Currently it is paved almost to the top
  23. Well I fell into being involved with a rally TV show ( I was setting up in car cameras for the Speedvision show) through an acquaintance and then started taking pictures, which got me noticed because of my shooting style, and got me gigs as team photographer for Hyundai USA, Subaru Canada, the sanctioning bodies and a Rally Magazine, so I got rides in the top open class cars (400hp AWD) on occasion when the teams were testing. I competed as a co-driver when a friend of mine asked me to do it, which was in a Nissan Sentra SER with 150hp and in some ways that was scarier than in the more powerful AWD cars because you had to keep your momentum going because of the lack of power and grip so the driver didn't slow much for the corners, which was a bit disconcerting. If you want to get involved the place to start is www.rally-america.com which is the sanctioning body and www.specialstage.com is an independent forum (word of caution, there can be a lot of political infighting on this forum and there is a lot of old curmudgeons that don't want to see the sport grow, etc) This me as meat in the seat in one of the Subaru Canada Cars http://www.mjswebgallery.com/rally_2002-06/images/2003-72.jpg From inside one of the Hyundai's but this one production class version, so does not have all the bells and whistles (I am on the right LOL) http://www.mjswebgallery.com/images/rally27.jpg Here is a link to a pile of pictures I have taken over the years Rally pics 2002-06
  24. Blasphemy, never use that crap! It's the lighting, combined with the post processing (and they are a little wet from the hose too)
