A short video to give you a taste.

Some more photos of the 1999 Williams F1 car that was working up this weekend. A short video from the Devil section is in a subsequent post below to get an idea of the engine wail. It was limited to 15000rpm instead of its redline of 17000rpm while the happy owner started to get up to speed with driving it.

Today we gained Jeremy who is running a Lotus 7 S2. Slightly spectacular oil leak for session 1 - now supposedly fixed.

What is a clowder? Is that a chowder with a lisp? Or was it an autocorrect fail referring to a cross flow?

I got told as people were driving out of the garage. Bit late to share the information so went with the flow. The idea was to catch up time after a BMW had improved it’s front end styling from the rather polarizing new look - you know the one where it looks like you dipped ass cheeks in ink and backed up onto the front of the car - well anyway, it had taken too much kerb while cornering on turn 12 and then impacted the wall. It was not a bad idea as it got us back on schedule and it made everyone undertake a learning exercise in track awareness. Some of us needed that.

Brilliant dinner at Le Guacamole in Millville. Lots of laughs. Some excellent biting humor from @Boxologist who showed that he has not lost it. Don’t ask me to name everybody!!!

This is not your normal track day. A Williams F1 car is running. A team was flown in from the UK to support the owner who is an NJMP Drivers Club member. Should be noisy in the garage today.

You should always start the track day off with a hearty hot breakfast. All included for participants.

People are still arriving. Jay arrived safely. After dinner we staked out our spaces in the garage so those arriving tomorrow can join us. Later arrivals can fit into the spaces we have so we can all hang out together. 8 cars here so far. Rest arrive tomorrow morning. Schedule is 7am for breakfast. 7.30 tech inspection. 8.30 drivers briefing. First cars on track at 9am. Sevens head out around 10:15am.

I will start a new thread for photos and will post here over the coming days. People are starting to trickle in. Graham and Tom are here - just dropping their trailers off and checking into hotels. I am just hanging out in the garage watching the donors…sorry…riders on their bikes. Predictably, 3 laps into the session and it is another red flag and ambulance to pick up the wounded. Paul and Jay are on their way - photo from the Garden State Parkway rest area. Off to gather the kit I need for tomorrow.

Having visited Birkin America last year, during my convenient break down, I am confident he has the pieces. The place was huge with a ton of spares stacked high. There were a lot of nosecones on the shelves - question is which one as there was more than one style over the years.

New Jersey out does California? !
Croc replied to panamericano's topic in Politics, Religion and Controversy
This was predictable. Just to do an engine change the regs do require a state inspection following to confirm it continues to meet roadworthiness and emissions. Obviously they are trying to trap non-like-for-like changes but they trap everything. Most people do not disclose the engine change and travel below the radar. Most of the problem in NJ is the regs on matters like this are not fully published for all to read. The inspection and emissions process is partly outsourced to a private company and so some of the information is considered proprietary and kept private. How do they then expect you to avoid getting yourself into trouble? No idea. That said, this guy could have handled it much better than he did. Still does not excuse what I consider to be an over-taxed, overly intrusive and draconian state. As soon as I retire I will be moving out of NJ. Sooner if I can do it. -

Trovit is a site that sucks up ads from all over the place and reposts. The problem is that is does not distinguish between old ads and current ads. So some of the ads could be a decade old. I once tested the Trovit messaging to see what response I would get and it was the classic cagey fishing question in response to question. They did not know what car I was inquiring about despite the my quoting the reference. It did not give me any confidence. Who knows what person is on the other end of your messages. Avoid the Trovit site. If its not a scam then its a middleman that could be trying to get a commission or it is just designed to be clickbait to get you to watch ads. Always deal with primary ad sites and principals who are owners or authorized to act for the owners.
