  1. The car is sold.
  2. One day remaining in the auction. I would really like it to sell this time, so I've dropped the reserve to $12,500. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2009-Westfield-SEi-Lotus-Seven-Replica-Kit-Car-/180963410831?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item2a2242838f
  3. I had a sale lined up, but it ended up falling through so I put the car back up on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180963410831&ssPageName=ADME:L:LCA:MOTORS:1123
  4. The car is still for sale and now it's also on eBay here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180945194494&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1558.l2649
  5. I've dropped the asking price to $20,000 OBO. Also here are a couple pictures from this Sunday's autocross.
  6. I've decided to sell my Westfield. I haven't been driving it much lately, since I've been getting more serious about rally and rallycross. The kit was ordered in fall 2007 and finished in May 2009. It's titled in Michigan as a 2009 Assembled Roadster. The drivetrain is mostly stock 1.6L drivetrain from a 1993 Miata with the following exceptions: Flyin' Miata aluminum lightweight flywheel stock replacement clutch for a 1.8L Miata MazdaSpeed Miata LSD (cone clutch type, 4.1:1 ratio) brakes are the larger brakes from a 1.8L Miata Megasquirt ECU I also installed the ABS system from the donor car which works very well, especially on track days and autocross. The car has the quick steering rack installed, and I also have a slow rack that could be swapped in. The car has a full tonneau cover, but no roof. It has BBS RG-F wheels. I'm asking $20,000 OBO. The car is located near Lansing, MI. You can contact me at ushernat@msu.edu, by PM here, or by posting in this thread.
  7. My first guess is you have a bad ground in your instrument panel.
  8. I never had my trailer weighed. I had planned to weigh it when I got it, but I never got around to doing it. My best guess would be 700-800 pounds, but I really don't know. My WRX is rated for 2000 pounds towing also, and I've had no problems towing it.
  9. I had a custom trailer built by Montrose Trailers to pull my Westfield. It's 12' long by (I think) 6' wide. The trailer is all aluminum and has brakes on one axle. The ramps are 10' long and I had them drop the center of the rear part of the trailer to clear the oil pan. I have no clearance issues when I load it up, but the exhaust does come pretty close to the top of the ramp as I drive up. I also had them install jacks on the rear corners of the trailer so I don't need to be attached to the tow vehicle to load and unload. Edit: The extra jacks on the rear of the trailer also come in really handy when you get a flat tire while the trailer is loaded. Here are some pictures of the trailer: http://www.msu.edu/%7Eushernat/trailer.jpg Large picture 1 Large picture 2 Large picture 3 Large picture 4 Large picture 5 http://www.msu.edu/%7Eushernat/IMG_0397.JPG
  10. There is an autocross at the MSU commuter lot that day, so I won't be able to come to this one. If your route takes you near Lansing, maybe you could stop by the autocross for a little while?
  11. The May 15-16, July 17-18, and September 25-26 weekends are better for me. There are rallycrosses scheduled for the other three weekends.

    Who is at Fault

I would put the person who installed the remote start system at fault. It's pretty ridiculous to install something like that with no safety interlocks hooked up. All cars have a parking brake switch that can be tapped, and most cars also have a neutral switch that can be tapped into, so it's just a matter of tapping into a couple more wires during the install.
  13. I just got my GoPro HD camera a few weeks ago and used it for the first time last weekend. It has much better sound than the previous versions and the video looks great. Here is the scaled down video from this weekend:
  14. The electrical kill switch is not required in D/E Mod if you are running DOT tires. Just about everyone runs DOT approved Hoosier A6 tires (at least in my region), which is probably why they never check.
  15. I won't be able to make on the 10th after all. My brother and I are going to be doing the Johnny Appleseed Rally that day. I can make the rain date, though.
  16. I'm currently on my second oil pan in my car. The oil pan on the Westfield (Miata donor) is lower than all the other Sevens I've seen. It's low enough that it'll hit the ground before I bottom out the suspension. I'll probably convert it to a dry sump setup so I can get back a few inches or at least put a skid plate on it.
  17. I'll be there. I just received word that the SCCA rallycross that had been tentatively scheduled for the 10th has been moved to the 3rd.
  18. Is there any chance you could just reflash the ECU with different firmware that won't show the codes? It's a pretty common thing with Subarus, but I don't know what kind of aftermarket support there is for doing it with a Honda engine.

    My Westfield

I had the rear fenders sprayed with Line-X truck bed liner.

    My Westfield

I got tired of messing around with masking tape at every autocross, so I put on some permanent vinyl numbers today. The class letters will go on in a few days; the vinyl place accidentally sent me the wrong size. http://www.msu.edu/%7Eushernat/IMG_0068.JPG http://www.msu.edu/%7Eushernat/IMG_0069.JPG http://www.msu.edu/%7Eushernat/IMG_0070.JPG
  21. I plan to be there.

    2003 Birkin

I started a new thread about third brake lights so we don't hijack this thread. http://www.usa7s.com/vb/showthread.php?t=3946
  23. I installed this light on my rollbar: [/url]http://www.etrailer.com/pc-tail-oval~STL79RB.htm?utm_source=froogle&utm_medium=ppc Installation was easy, I just drilled and tapped holes for two M4 screws and bolted it right on. http://www.msu.edu/%7Eushernat/IMG_0032.JPG
  24. I got my Westfield finished enough to get it registered 2 months ago. Just in time for autocross season. There are still a few minor things to finish up, but nothing important. Somehow I didn't find this site until Spaz saw pictures of the last autocross and pointed me here. http://www.msu.edu/%7Eushernat/Se7en.jpg http://www.msu.edu/%7Eushernat/IMG_0048.JPG My donor Miata had ABS, which I carried over to the Westfield. It seems to have carried over to the lighter car with no problems at all. http://www.msu.edu/%7Eushernat/ABS1.JPG http://www.msu.edu/%7Eushernat/spin.jpg
