Hey Bill Welcome to the Seven World - Same 'kinda good bunch of folks as at the Factory Five forum.
-
I don't understand all the ins-and-outs but, my Norton 360 wouldn't let me keep the screen saver. I think it was referring to Spy Ware or Ad Ware. Given the fact that 360 has kept my computer clean (and absent the knowledge to build any safety wall around the thing) I'm not going to take a chance on this. I've seen some of these photos before - They are REALLY good ;(
-
One of the most appealing aspects of the Stalker is the total reliance on American parts. The new stuff (i'.e Disk calipers etc) is off-the-shelf cheap. Last time I checked, you could get a low mielage LY7 take-out (albeit from a Caddy - same technology and almost same tune) for$2,000.
-
I have been high on the LY-7 engines but don't don't know if anyone has even taken the measurements to see if it will fit. Seriously, I have tried several times to get the physical dimensions (i.e. blueprints) but, as yet, been unable to do so. Any help/links appreciated.

Buddy keeps busting my b*lls over my car

Hard to believe ('Tho folks we know can be "busters" some times) . I've had my Stalker since 2004(?) and, I don't think I've ever had ONE negative comment. I mean, my car is not a pristine or, even, show quality build but, to-a-person, I've never perceived a less-than-positive reaction to the car. I know a lot of Factory Five (or other replicar) owners get that "ain't a real one" dismissive reaction but the 7-esque cars (I guess) are so rare and unique, folks just seem fascinated by them. That's my story and I'm sticking with it. -
Heck, Factory Five alone has sold over 6,000 "roadsters" (and MOST of them get built). I'd be curious to know how many Locosts actually get on-the-road,

Nice trailer Anthony. Too bad timing's not good for me (Hell, I ain't got the money right now). I'd like to go with a lighter deal than the tandem I have now. PS: Assuming your's is in good condition, that's a great price!

Ah, those3 were the days. Tow rating? We don't need no stinkin' tow ratings.... Used to tow my '56 Chevy to the Drag Races with a 65 Dodge Dart (6 Cylinder AT) How many Airstreams were towed by who-knows-what... Brakes? We don't need no steeenkin' brakes..... A simpler time?.....simpler minds? You make the call. -

I always thought this was a nice pairing. http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/showphoto.php?photo=26627&title=big-and-little&cat=500 Bought the big guy to tow the little guy. (Ended up selling it. Mama liked the little guy buy, wouldn't camp.) -
Our thoughts are with ALL our good friends in New Zee Stay well!

Could that be one of the most beautiful cars ever built? Iconic in my memory (like the late Jim Clark Loti or the last Phil Hill / Von Trapps vintage Ferraris)

So, tell us a little about yourselves

Hey Angus, So glad to hear you're alive and well. I'm sure you'll have a GREAT experience if you DO come to the States. FYI: If you're going to work in NYC you don't have to live there ('Tho it would certainly be a great experience.) In any event, there are certainly a lot of great drives within an hour of NYC. Still on my favorites list (and checked periodically for signs of life) http://www.MyCaterham.com -
Ther's also a YouTube video of that Stalker and trailer combo
-
I like the concept - the look? Not so much. Like to see how / if the frame, running gear is purpose built or cut out of the Suburu. Wonder if anybody has done something comparable with the EVO? Bryce? You listening?

Hey Mike, Welcome aboard! Before I built my car, I did not OWN HAND TOOLS and had very little confidence in my ability to build anything. I went ahead and bought a Stalker (Lotus 7 replicar) kit anyway. I stared at the pile of "stuff" in my garage for several months (Build Manual -at-that-time- was pretty THIN) before attempting anything. However, once I saw this fellow's site, I completed my build in less than 4 months (part-time, of course). http://home.hiwaay.net/~sbuc/stalkerv6/index.html Whether you build a Cat (or a Stalker or any other 7-esque), many of Sam's build princples apply. For me, it was like a build manual and an inspiration.
