The Regular Summary of Classified Ads of Se7ens Found For Sale
Eraser-X replied to Croc's topic in Cars For Sale
Guys the 05 Birkin on Craigslist in Austin is mine. I listed the builder as just MSI which should be MSI Motorsports / BirkinSport back when it was run by Woody Harris. The car weighs 1234 with about a half tank of gas on 15 inch wheels and Toyo R888 tires running the full windshield. The car is well sorted and ready to go anywhere the updates beyond Woody's build include a better catch can system like the one Folis used. The stock fuel tank was modified for an internal fuel pump and better baffling with check valves to eliminate all of the starvation issues caused by the stock baffling and odd pick up location. I also had the MSI alternator mount rebuilt with extra gussets added. The taller roll bar was built to meet requirements of the BMW and Porsche clubs just to deal with new rules used to block Ariel Atoms that required the fenders to be mounted to the chassis of the car. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. http://austin.craigslist.org/cto/5533355181.html Thanks -
I run the Toyo RA-1 on the front of my Birkin it just required bending the fender bracket a little bit. I even think with a small mod to the fender bracket I could run that tire on a 8 inch wide 949 wheel. Which wiring harness is causing the problems the main one supplied by Birkin or the FI harness added by the builder?

The Navigon app does not require cell service or data access to work. It also is integrated with your contacts list allowing to quickly input destinations. You can set your route profiles up to take scenic routes and input routes for drives.

Don't any of you guys carry a cell phone? I use this app with my iPhone and they cover Android and Windows also. When using my phone to listen to books on longer drives Navigon will even pause the audio to offer it's instructions. This application and the others like it have been digging into the sales of Garmin and Tom Tom so seriously that Garmin just bought Navigon. http://www.navigon.com/portal/us/produkte/navigationssoftware/index.html

Wow I looked in to buying both of those cars this year. The Yellow car was sold by Dick early this year. The other car was Antony's and the new owner has not had it more the 3 or so months and it looks like he is trying to make a good deal of money off it. Eraser-X Austin, TX

PVC is the most expensive pipe to use for shop air! I used to work at a shop that used it and while I was there saw a customer run over an air hose and the quick coupler on the air hose tore the skin on the door of a Mercedes CL600 and nicked the rear quarter panel. I think the repair was around 9K! I have also heard of mechanics just stepping on an air hose and breaking the pipes. In my garage I am using copper with all of my air drops off set with drains controlled by ball valves at every drop. http://gallery.bcwolff.com/default.aspx?moid=12434 I also have the garage split up into sections with ball valves and unions to allow me to cut off a section of the system for changes or repairs. The copper is pretty cheap and very fast to install with just a cutter, torch, soldier and flux. My goal on the system was to be able to work in any area of my garage without having to stretch a hose across a car.

Hey, that is a picture of me talking to you guys! I am the little fat guy with the Birkin that came by and talked to you about your car during the Saturday lunch break. Eraser-X

I also seem to have the same issue with my Birkin but not on all tracks. If I run at the driveway in Austin a very sticky track with lots of high g turns and braking my catch can still pretty dry. If I run at Harris Hill road in San Marcos in either direction I get about 12 ounces of oil in the catch can per session. I was starting to think that is was because Harris Hill was so bumpy. But now I am starting to think it is just an issue with the design of the valve covers breather assembly. Either way I need to find an acceptable fix I am on the track at a couple of times a month and Harris Hill has just been repaved so anything that helps me avoid draining that catch can between sessions would be a great help.

I have not had my Birkin very long but I have but about 1300 miles on since the first week of August. I should have doubled the miles the PO put on my car before too long. I am thinking I should be driving about 6 to 7K a year maybe more if I find some weather gear

It is hard to believe the number of people out there that will sign a contract and ignore it later when it no longer suits them. Top Gear invested money in building the Stig and promoting him and his persona. The driver/actor signed a contract stating how he was to not disclose his identity and how he was to remain anonymous. Now we should all just forget about that just so he can void his contract and write a book? The publisher of this book will never see a penny of my money and I will never attend an event where Ben Collins is paid to attend.
