You didn't specify which Cosworth engine but it is probably 1 - 3 - 4 - 2.

116e engine . Problem is cylinders 1 and 4 not firing.

Any backfiring when trying to get it started? Check and make sure you haven't crossed up the plug wires on 1 and 4.

Also, its not just whether the wires on the cap are in the correct positions. There are typically 11 drive teeth on the distributor drive gear, and therefore 10 ways to get it wrong when you install it into the block....

got it, crossed wires.

How about fine tuning the timing? Cannot find any info on timing marks. Any clue?
