stevet
The 'bus stop' at Spa I think. The smoke after he closes the door at the end probably sums up his mood
scannon
When the airbags go off, you want to get out of there ASAP if it is safe to do so. That smoke is from the sodium azide and it will give you a tremendous headache that can last for days. I've been in two airbag deployments, one on a test stand when we were developing the system at Thiokol and one in a car crash. I have to wonder what the effect on his ears will be with at least three bags deploying in a closed car. Some people get permanent hearing damage but it is better than planting your face in the steering wheel.

I sort of figured that was just a brain fart as anyone familiar enough with Spa to know about the Bus Stop can be assumed to instantly recognize Eau Rouge from any angle and any distance. locostv8
I would think the Bag system would be one fo the first things to remove or disable before tracking a car. The bags going off at the wrong time would not be a good thing.

MHKflyer52
I fell sorry for the young guy but take a close look at the kid, racing gloves, t-shirt with # 1 in a racing stripe, helmet cam a definite want-a-be race car driver with no real experience in that car as one would not have that happen if he knew the car or the track. First mistake I see is he lifted off the gas before he clipped / hit the rumble strips on the left then accelerated and lifted again just before he clipped / hit the rumble strips on the right which helped to unseat the car then lifted again if you listen to the engine which let the backend come around and he never got back on the throttle to stop the slide while turning into it. Ok you are saying how would he know this...well I have owned and raced Porsches since the early 70's (914-6, 911S, 911SC) and have been a driving instructor with the Porsche Club in the past and the 997 TURBO just dose not leave you out their if you know the car at all. I guess that is one way to learn but it sure dose hurt learning that way.
