FE07
When I bought my car, it came with new ACB-10's on it. These seem to work well on track and fine on the street. The car never see's rain unless it's on track and probaby not for long even then. My question is with the different compounds. For my car there are 3 different compounds for the front A24, A30 and A60. Rear- A24, A31 and A60. A24 is the softest and A60 the hardest. Right now the car has the A30 and A31 combo. Anyone have any experience using the A24 compound? Significantly softer/less wear? I called Roger Kraus and spoke with someone but he didn't have any direct knowledge of the difference. They don't order too many of the ACB-10's. Just wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions/comments before I order new tires. Thanks, Jim

yellowss7
Jim, no experience with ACB10's but when I ran the Hoosiers on my Yellow car, I ran the softest compound R25B and still felt that they held up well. I heat cycled them out vs wearing them down. Our cars are light so I don't think it is a big deal to go soft. IMO. Tom
Croc
The A60 compound is the one Avon describes in their tech specs as EU "road legal." The softer two compounds are the ones intended for Formula Ford racing. Given we have heavier cars than a formula ford, you may find it wears out quicker than you expect but the ACB10 is pretty consistent for grip across its entire life. Give it a try and let us know how good it is!

sdca7
I've run both the A60 and A24 compounds on the Avon ZZR, and have really liked he A24. Great grip, good longevity, and very nice feel. Take a look at the Avon ZZR from Roger Kraus Racing. Even though they are heavier than the ACB10, they are much cheaper and very fast. Just ask for the A24 compound rather than the A60 compound. I have found the A24 ZZR to be nearly as fast as slicks, longer lasting, and far cheaper. Justin
